There isn't a correct answer because there's no universal standard for how equations are read in typed format. There was a whole thread on this a year or so back.
If it was hand written the author could use less ambiguous notation to make the problem clear.

I don't see how you don't get that is exactly what I've been saying and that if it's improperly written, there isn't a "100% proper answer" yet you keep insisting that there is a "proper answer" despite it being written improperly.

My calculator is a bit more advanced than those, takes equations in a more "human" fashion.
it automatically puts a "*" inbetween a fraction and a variable if you don't declare it.

Yeah. Certain software will handle it for you properly. Also in textbooks they usually have proper notation so things that are printed aren't ambiguous in this way.

it doesn't have a term in the denominator, you're assuming that. Well if you want to be technical, I am 100% right because you'd multiply by juxtaposition.
