I honestly don't see the big deal with pet activists.
I mean, at least w/ vegan/vegetarians, their point makes sense (even though I disagree), but "don't eat dogs" while sitting there eating a burger, fish, or chicken... something about it seems really hypocritical to me.
Me too which is why I don't judge.. Two of my most eaten meats are viewed as 'wrong' by someone else.. Pork and Beef.. One is thought of as dirty and disgusting and another is thought of as sacred.. I'd never eat dog, but that's my own guilt, not some hypocritical stance how it's okay to slaughter one animal and wrong to slaughter another.
I certainly won't be guilt tripping them about what they eat.
Well that is until it's life and death.. Then it's no hold's barred.. I get hungry enough I'll eat pretty much anything.. Not just "I haven't eaten in 18 hours" hungry but "We're lost in the middle of nowhere and I haven't eaten in 18 days".. I probably wouldn't even wait for it to cook at that point.
I have this huge phobia of roaches, I can't even touch dead ones, but on this show about surviving on discovery (can't recall what it's name is off the top of my head >.<, inb4 wife shows up to say) after weeks of little to no food, someone brought a bunch of roaches back and cooked them up.. I can't really say I wouldn't eat them at that point, if I was literally starving, I probably would..
