Hello adventurers of FFXIV! This is battle lead Akihiko Matsui.

I would like to take this moment to explain the current plans we have in place.

First off, once the future battle balance and battle system adjustments take place, we feel that the implementation of auto-attack is quite necessary. Please embrace this as just one of the many necessary revamps needed to create more interesting and strategy rich battles as well as solve the tediousness of having to spam a button.

With this said, I do not feel that the implementation of auto-attack will solve everything. In other threads there have been many topics coming up about what is going to happen to the stamina gauge and claim system, how classes should have unique qualities and stats, what’s going to happen with monsters, raid dungeons, equipment, etc. I have looked over all of the great number of elements and at the current stage feel that without implementing auto-attack that the future battle system would be impossible.

Compared to the FFXI auto-attack system, we are thinking about making the auto-attack system for FFXIV have a shorter attack delay. (This has been a heated debate on the forum, and having been lead of FFXI please forgive me for bringing it up as a point of comparison. There is no "better" or "worse" system.)

The objective here is not to lower the battle difficulty. The main objective here, when thinking about battles rich in strategy, pace, and exhilaration, is instead of having to time regular attacks, we will be preparing situations that require proper timing of abilities, magic, and weapon skills. Following this, weaker enemies are a different story, but we will make sure it’s balanced so you can’t win a fight just by using auto-attack.

Due to the fact we still have a lot of elements that need to be tested and looked into, it is difficult for me to tell you any more info in great detail, but if you give me some time I will do my best to share the information with you. Thank you!

the docks are completely full, they have one of the ships in the middle of the harbor using its life boats to ferry people off

So I spent an ungodly amount of time last night stalling and doing GoogleEarth half-labs for my geography lab class when I could have been doing something TOTALLY constructive *cough* like watching another Farscape episode, leveling whm, or killing large amounts of lizards with 150+ ice damage or whatever.

Then this morning I got an email that geography lab is canceled today. Why, might you ask, is it canceled? Because it's drizzling out (barely) and the lab TA doesn't want to hang around outside in the drizzles. /facepalm.

Well hey, now you can goof off today.

I'm thinking about how I love my new class on COD dedicated purely to explosives. RPG, AK47 w/ nade launcher, claymores, frags, and a flak jacket. Big booms make for a happy tama-chan.

Explosives are for noobs with no aim.

Bacteria cultures are fun! We did some with potato roots in Plant Science lab. We got to cut our own roots, too. We had to dip the scissors and tongs in alcohol and then in fire lighters to set them on fire, then wait til the alcohol all burned off and snip-snip. I was sure someone was going to set a pair of on-fire scissors down on the table or hold it upright so the burning alcohol drizzled onto their hand, but no one did. It was fun!

Er, it wasn't supposed to be bacteria, actually. Just most of them ended up that way because none of us kept it sterile enough. /blush.

Yeay, Micro! Wait...No! That class was a ***!

You know what they say about men who like micro biology.. That their penis is so small they need micro organisms to make it appear average..

Okay, so I just made that up.

we've already established that my 2 cm is well above average with respect to the average potato

Ugh my class was just impossibly hard. First time around I completely failed it with a 1.8, second time around I at least passed with a 2.1. One of the two teachers was good, the tests were *** impossible. For three credits, that class SHOULDN'T be that hard!

Three credits? Are you not including the lab? Did they not combine the lab and class for your final grade?

i can't get behind that tbh, at least if the test questions weren't the ridiculous trick question variety where they try to trip you up with semantics

i really, really wish college was designed more around weeding out substandard performers, as opposed to dumbing down courses to reduce dropout rates like our school is doing

if we keep going along this path, sooner later a degree isn't going to mean much

this goes double if someone is planning to go into healthcare, as a lot of microbiology students are

no way i want some doctor or nurse with a 2.5 gpa working on me
