It's a religious thing that christian countries celebrate. Every day is associated to a saint and today is St. Stephen. It's like a mini-bday, not as important but you still get presents etc.

We have it here too but it's not related to saints. I have 2 name days so I'd get something on 2 days as a kid lol. Some days are religious but most are just normal names. This is for personal names.
