I'm kinda excited about spring coming back.
Means the weather here becomes tolerable for at least two months, and I get my fatty tax return and vacation pay at the same time.
Gonna be difficult to resist getting myself a Wii U with my recent jones to play Xenoblade and Zelda again. Just need to keep my eyes on the prize and rebuild my PC.
why not just get a regular wii and hack it?
much cheaper.
actually I was just told that the entire wii emulator on the wiiU is now fully hacked, still not sure if it supports hdd loading yet or not, I'd have to ask my friend who's been keeping tabs on it.
what's wrong with your computer?
I want a Wii U because I'm a sap and devotee of several Nintendo based franchises, specifically Zelda. So if the Wii U is going to be the platform to host the next generation of Zelda games, I'm gonna buy it.
Also I did have a Wii, but it more specifically belongs to my younger brother, and with the Wii U's backwards comparability with Wii games, it would sell myself short once the good games start coming out. Hopefully gamecube games will reach the virtual console in time, otherwise I'll likely just resort to mods, hacks, emulators and things of the like.
Also worth noting that Shigesato Itoi recently tweeted about Mother 2 (Earthbound) being re-released at some point in the future. Which more than likely will be on the 3DS or Wii U, so that alone is worth my hard earned cash, as the Mother series is perhaps one of my all time favorites.
Though you're right in that modding my old Wii would be the best and cheapest course of action since their value deteriorates pretty quickly once it's predecessor is out in the open.
Lastly, my PC is fine, but that's all it is. I want something up to par or at least a bit beyond that. And sadly my current hardware setup is a bit too dated to have any respectable or worthwhile upgrades, so it means using a whole new socket, north bridge and RAM architecture. A new PC in essence.
