My point was that no game is impossible to find, wasn't making a case in favour of piracy, clam down. And no, ps1 games to me don't deserve a high price. Your opinion doesn't drive the market though...

To me... I don't see how you can differentiate between digital products and physical products... it's wrong to steal a physical copy of the game from the store right? but somehow it becomes alright to steal the game as long as it's in digital form? I don't get how there's such a disconnect other than that people just tell themselves its ok because they want something... I steal your car while you're asleep. In the morning, you go outside and the car isn't there.
I break into your house(very carefully to avoid damage!) with a flash drive and copy a game off of your computer. In the morning, you still have your game.

Mod chips always seemed sketchy to me, too. The sites that supply them are all so poorly done. there is a difference between a collector item (in this case, a game) and an used re-used version. in many cases, opened items and worn out things, drop in value severely, and I assume this store just resells games, $20 is a high price.
also, Developers, companies, get no dime in re-sold items, you are not supporting these companies, but only supporting the store's pocket, or in some cases, bad companies like gamestop etc. who end up overpricing used games, and giving you crap money (almost typed Gil... wtf) when you trade it in :/

I saw a guy trying to sell a hard copy of Xenogears in it's PS1 case with booklet and everything at convention this year for like 85 dollars. It's 5 dollars on the PSN store... Some people would rather have a collectible than digital media...

It's also disrespectful for the developers to release halfass products to start patching them months later with overpriced DLC.
I pirate games. If I like the game, I'll buy it to support the company.

They need to make a profit or they wouldn't bother dealing in used games.

I get that, but paying nearly 17x the price is just silly to me.

What does that make the publishers who distribute the product at a price several times higher than the cost to make? That means if we pay full price they are stealing our money right? So it's okay for them to do that?

Used copies are like that... you definitely aren't supporting the companies that make the game... but this is also a market... Liek many people you may have sold something that you once used to someone else... all of a sudden though when a company does it and makes big bucks there is something wrong with it now lol...

Someone bought a signed jersey of kareem abdul jabar(sp?) for over $3,000... people spend a lot of money on a lot of different things... for some people it's important to have and can spend a little extra to get it... perceived (or personal) value can even take something above market value...

How am I supposed to know if a game is going to be worth a 60$ pricetag without buying it?
I'm sure the hundreds of thousands of people that bought Skyrim on PS3 were just full of joy to find the save bug that made them lose 50+ hours of gameplay just an AWESOME feature.
Mirrors Edge on PC would crash NONSTOP due to an NVIDIA driver conflict and that went on for OVER A YEAR making it unplayable for hundreds of thousands of people.
Dark Souls is a pure console port with shitty keyboard adaption and capped framerate.
SWTOR was abandoned by its lead dev team months after launch. (I'm still pissed on that because I bought the 180$ collector edition)
Witcher 2 was a pure console port to PC with terrible PC controls and glitches.
These are just a handful of games. EA and Activision keep taking shortcuts and release piles of ***in the name of companies that USED to have good products.

Yeah, I'm not completely oblivious to this lol. And I think you got Kareem's name right. Anyways, I was just saying I think it's crazy, as I'd never pay that kind of money, and I think that particular price tag on that item (seeing is how you can buy the SAME game for 5-10 dollars) was silly. A jersey signed by somebody is way different as it's not as easy to obtain. Just sayin'

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
