Honestly, if it was a dumb question, I would accept such treatment, but I thought it was very legitimate. Like I said though, the class is almost over, so I'll grin and bear it until class is over. But are we going to be best buddies on Facebook? No.
Legitimate question or no... we all don't look at or respond to things the same way...
I've dealt with more than a few people who have been disrespectful in my line of work and well sometimes I found myself to "sort of" deserved it and other times to have been completely in the right... their overreaction was foolish none the less but they either mistook and understood the situation differently or were just having one of those days...
In your case it could have been something that was quite legitimate for you and for him was just second nature therefore his response... whether he delivered it with any malice at all or not idk but could just be that...
Either way... unless there's some kind of egregious sin committed it's best not to burn bridges or make a rash judgement based off the one interaction especially when all the previous ones lead you to believe he was a decent/good guy... anyways... just my two cents...
