Made another post to explain where my doubts lie.
I'll make an example too:
FF1: you chose a class and learn abilities from that class.
FFT: you chose a class and then chose abilities from other subclasses of your choice.
FF10/12: you have archetypes and then freely chose abilities from a skill-tree.
FF4: you have unique characters with special abilities each. No choice.
Edit: I ask that why?
Cause if we have pre-established heroes with unique characteristics(FF4, FF8, ecc), then designing a lot of classes is an unnecessary work, you can just design single characters and likely you'll see many classes disappear from your list.
While if heroes are up to customization, then there must be a list of skills to chose from, in which case you should limit what we're going to pick about these outside characters we're giving you.
FFT.
The only difference here is that you get to personalize the abilities to suit your character.
If Generic Black Mage has Firaga V and Sir Wellington Bootstrap the Thirty-fifth has Super Glorious Ultimate Firaga V; they're going to be the same spell, just with a different name and animation.
There is no unnecessary work because I'm not designing any classes until people give them to me. I'm not making 30 classes and mixing and matching what people want; I'm making 1 class for each character. In-universe it's 2 classes, but in the database, it's just one. Each class will then have it's own skill list determined by the character.

also will ya be makeing portraits for the chars <just a face > or the face and a body picture for the menu system?
few rpgs like this but cant think any off the top of my head atm
Portraits only for the menu, but might have bigger pictures for when characters are talking.
Was my character description ok? ;~;
Yeah, sorry, but I wasn't clear with what I meant by skills at the time. I meant specifics rather than the general ability lists, sorry.
