I never knew Mag was an RPG fan :O or much of a gamer
I gave up on RPGs a while ago... there just haven't been many great games to me lately. Think the last RPG I have played and beaten was Dragon Age when that first came out. I have wasted money and started a billion of them, but nothing has really been able to keep my interest.
I dunno if it is just because I am growing up or what, but gaming just isn't high on my list any more. Hopefully XCOM will be as awesome as the original and allow me to kill some aliens and giggle a little.

There's a lot of secrets locked up in this mustachioed noggin of mine...
I'm actually what you refer to as a "casual gamer". I'm not talking about like Farmville or those Facebook games (although I did do the baking game for a while...), but rather that I game on occasion, but not to a hardcore level. I'm the guy that you get mad at because I just don't have everything down perfectly. LoL for instance, but that's another story entirely. I tend to keep the difficulty setting on the lowest possible, as I more enjoy playing through for the story and the interactivity with that story. In this case, I do enjoy RPGs, plus I love love love customization, and RPGs have a ton of that. That's why when I get 14, I'll spend 3 hours just on the character creation sheet. Same went with Skyrim. I built my character perfectly, then went out and stuck to the story levels. After I beat the story I went back and did all the side quests, but that story is what I love most out of games. The side missions are a distraction at best for me.
Well, I got LO for 12 bucks, so it's not going to break the bank if that's the issue. But it depends on the availability in your area. I got lucky and saw it in the cheap-o bin.
Oh man.. I haven't touched Skyrim's main story after getting out of the cave place after the dragon attacked xD I love exploring/doing quests. Once I finish the story in a game I feel like what's the point of playing the extra stuff? If I really like the game I'll 100% it though.
Amazon is my first go to if it isn't a steam game. Which it is still going for ~$50 there. But the only other options I have near me are Best Buy (loooooooool) and Gamestop. So I doubt the pricing would be any better at either of those.
I don't do used games from online sites Narsh, otherwise I wouldn't mind. Just been bitten a few times trying to do online used games. Plus, I like the box and manual and stuff <.<;
>:3 I have an Original Valkyrie Profile in perfect condition, complete with original jewel case and manual... I'm a tid bit OCD about those things.
I used to love the manuals and I'd read through 'em pretty thoroughly before I played any game. But lately they've become so skimpy on the manuals that I just don't find them worth reading or really even keeping.
I used to freak out if I lost a manual, now it's like "w/e."

I spent 3 hours reading over the manual for FF7, and the part I didn't understand was the materia. Then, when I got to play it, that turned out to be so super easy to figure out. But yeah, I do miss reading manuals like that. Nowadays they usually just include it on the game itself, or tutorial the hell out of everything.
"Go forward with the left stick!" Oh really? This is something I have not heard before.
I know the feeling. :( Lost Odyssey is one of those games that I spent 24/7 on though. If you have the money I'd highly recommend it :o
I'm told all of the Mistwalker games are worth giving a whirl, considering it's a lot of the old Square talent, it comes to no surprise.
I played most of the way through Lost Odyssey just never finished it, to be fair I did the same for some older FF games, and can count the total number of games I've actually finished on two hands...
ahhh *** :| boss in BL2 ... they give you no ammo ... I'm like all out from running through the place... and every few minutes it spawns a badass ...
uhhh am I supposed to be playing as chuck norris?
It's really supposed to be played as coop. For solo, I've found if you overlevel a couple of levels (1-2), you still get decent xp, mobs go down a lot faster (so you're using half the ammo), and you aren't dying in 3 hits.

I'm at level with most of the mobs ('cept for badass mobs) I'm only level 12 so not far lol... I have the quest where I have to rescue roland ... got to the boss thing there... and he just finally zipped away... so i'm guessing it was just an endurance thing...
Yeah, if you fail that you just have to chase him down in another area. I failed it my first time solo because I didn't know what was going on, but it's not a huge problem. But that is a huge area to push through without any ammo. In future runs I'd stop before activating the boss, run back and restock, and push through the (mostly) cleared ares.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
