WD-40 the emergency brake cable and work it back and forth several times. It's stuck.
pulled the brake up and let it back out and now the car is rolling normally in neutral.
Excellent. There are some good videos on youtube you can check out based on the type of brake system you have. If you want to tear them apart. I always try all the cheapest and easiest things first.
good luck!
never ever ever ever ever drag a car that doesn't roll free in neutral.
I looked around but couldn't find the linkage or anything. There's about 6 cables running down the center of the frame under there, but they're all covered and all look almost identical. Tried following them around but didn't see anything.
When we got the car I kinda figured we'd have to do something about the brakes soon, I don't remember why I thought that.
I'm just gonna take it in to the shop. I don't have the patience to work on cars like I used to. It used to be fun now it's just a giant pain the ***. Shop is right by the house and they give free estimates so I don't really lose anything by having them take a look at it. Even if WD40 would fix everything, still needed to get the brakes done anyways.
Oh and yeah I didn't plan on just dragging it when it wouldn't roll freely.. I didn't put 2 and 2 together until we'd already got it home and noticed we couldn't push it.
