All FF's were linear.. they just did a better job at hiding it. The only thing different with 13 is the fact that you can't revisit most of the past areas. The game opens up near the end (as it does in most FF's)

Eh I usually use Prishe Lightning Bartz Gilgamesh or my imported Cloud from TE first Dissidia. Never liked Vaan
