I've played through 13, and love that game. But I mean if they are basically "modes of transportation" (see Shiva/Odin), you had to have thought the "tricked out car" went to the token black dude. He has guns, he literally says in the beginning of the game, something to the effect of "I'm getting too old for this ***", and he has a bird living in his hair :P

The summons have consistently been a spiritual aspect of the series then they go and turn them into these gimmicky machines.
