This theory is really interesting to me.. I doubt its true but its fun to ponder.
I'm partial to the Rinoa = Ultimicia personally. One of the scenes in Dissidia where Ultimicia explains her reason for wanting time compression seemed like a bit of a nod to it imo. Can't remember if the reason was given in game or not.
I've only played thru it once :/ I don't remember much about the story lol I just remember that "omg we all grew up in the same orphanage!!" thing

I honestly can't find much memorable about the game tbh. The final boss theme was eipc though.
FF8 was iffy for me.
It had a pretty decent path to follow along for the first disc, but after that it got rather... messy. Kinda like that third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Was like they took the script and storyboard, shoved it in a cannon, shot it out, and picked up the pages in random order.
One ridiculous thing after the other just kinda left me indifferent; especially since there was no real clear understanding of the antagonist nor her motive.

I actually liked that they left alot up to interpritation, look at the theorys that have poped up after all. If nothing else it's a game that got people talking and being left to take what you can to come to your own conclusions isn't automaticly a bad thing.

Oh don't get me wrong. I love obscurity to a degree. Something left to your imagination can be quite beneficial, but when it shrouds the entire plot in secrecy and leaves the player more puzzled than fascinated, then I have problems with being too far out in left field so to speak. But the biggest and most important thing to me is having a well defined antagonist that measures up to the struggle and efforts of the protagonist and secondary characters.

Back-reading a lil and omfg this! I HATED that. It was like thrown at the player all of the sudden and it was EVERY damn character lol. (mind you my copy was used and it froze on disc 4 >_< never played the ending). Though ff8 had the best card game ever. The only thing that sucked about it was the random rule changes when you played against certain people. I lost all of my main character cards as a result lol

Yeah, Triple Triad was pretty awesome and fun. If they had made that the main card game on the side for Playonline I would have played the hell out of it. But yeah, rule changes were annoying as hell. I remember rage-restarting against many opponents until I won against them :<
I definitely was surprised that that wasn't the card game on POL. I definitely would have played it too. The FF9 card game was so damn stupid and somewhat confusing as to the chain kills and such. It was rather lame.
My third disc always froze on FF8. It was during the cutscene for the Lunar Cry.
Such a weird concept for having all the monsters though.
THEY'RE ALL FROM THE MOON, THEN THEY ALL PLOP DOWN ON EARTH ONCE EVERY CENTURY!

Where's this guy when you need him?
Theres far weirder concepts out there guarantee you XD
FF8's story struck me as confusing too. Granted like I said I didnt play through it all and this was awhile ago, but wtf was up with playing as the other trio of characters? Was that Squall in another life? I gotta buy the damn thing on PSN and run through it now lol

It is explained in game, but it is spoilers so if you are going to pick it up I won't say
I might have to. It's like one of only a few FF games I never got to finish (damn those oooold gameboy games. they were hard as crap back in the day lol)

Final Fantasy Adventure, Final Fantasy Legend series...
First disc in 8 was definitely the best and I think the time compression thing was HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE and Ultimecia should have been given more background story :| She's kinda like 8's Necron and Seifer is Kuja; Seifer's motives is explained more and you get to know his backstory but Ultimecia kinda pops out of nowhere and is all /destroy. They should have just kept Edea as the main antagonist in the game (with Seifer) and gone with that for the rest of the discs :| Still a good game though, just confusing as hell near the end of disc 3 and like.. all of 4.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
