I was going to get a hot dog for lunch but the stupid *** store didn't have any at the little food thing they have in there :| only chicken and pizza which hooray I had both yesterday already :|

>___> since july 8th, there was a decent size mess of dishes in the sink. After a week or so I decided to clean the dishes. But I haven't really used dishes besides cups and forks.

so for the past 2 weeks I've been getting hungry and started cooking food. And Eventually I ran out of clean plates to use cuz no one decided to wash dishes. It came to be that the majority of the plates in the sink were placed there from my roommate.

I decided to wash the dishes again. and left some of the dishes for him to wash.

Its august 3rd. he still hasn't even tried to clean any of the dishes.
So... I'm just going to be a *** and make it harder for him.
Cooked bacon on a few plates. pretty much left a film of grease on them. and things like that. And now the dishes are slowly stacking up.

So now if i want to use dishes, I just wash them off with hot water and soap and reuse them.

what should I do? Cuz he keeps saying i'll wash dishes, but then he forgets or gets sidetracked with other things >_>

Edible dinnerware. Booya.

The dreaded dishes, how I despise yee.

Passive means like that (i.e. hoping he'll pick up on clues or cues to "do the right thing") don't really work, because you are assuming he will notice after a while or even cares.

Everyone is different, as you know, but it's best to just communicate what you want to him. If it still cannot be resolved, you should just use separate plates and utensils (his set, and your set, kept separately.)

If he leaves a mess after, meaning that there is gross @$@% in the sink for weeks at a time which poses a health threat even after pointing that stuff out (and/or questioning his upbringing in a diplomatic way) :p just get a new roommate. ;_;

Chores are a shared responsibility between roommates. If you feel your frequency of washing dishes is unfair, you need to tell him until he starts washing them too.

Some people don't feel guilt at not having to wash them because a more vigilant roommate does it for them.

totally not touching that for sure. and pretty much on a daily basis I tell him he still has to do the dishes, and he's like

*sigh* I know, i'll do it after this.
