This quest is so broken on skyrim, I have to jump on a building, and fall through the town to reach an NPC miles out into the ocean...

Why isn't this fixed? o.o

The same reason why water submersion freeze issue for PS3 still isn't fixed.

Many (but certainly not all) faces of Optimus Prime.

I'm feeling horribly nostalgic right now...

It's Skyrim, the whole game is broken, yet it's good enough to be voted game of the year apparently...

That's because despite all it's glitches it was still that much better than every other game of 2011.

It is a good game although nither it or oblivian came close to Morrowind as far as fun imo... I wouldn't get your hopes up in terms of them fixing everything though, if I remember right there are still a fudge ton of things wrong with Oblivian that they just kinda said F it and left it to players to fix with mods :/

I'm so finished with Skyrim, did absolutely everything in it, Platinum, etc. Archer ftw.

Might get the Add-On Expansion, idk yet.

Thats all opinion though... It took me 20 hours to get bored of Skyrim, 200+ hours to get board of WKC 2. I don't know why but it just came off as bland to me.

WKC2? Is that a bluray? How could you watch a movie for 200 hours...oh~oh~Oh
That being said you have to take into account Skyrim was cross platform and PC, of course it's sales were widespread. It's easy to see how it would be considered GOTY and single platform games would be overlooked.

I'd say Portal 2 did a better job, but because it's limited in it's design none of these 'gaming journalists' are going to recognise it above Skyrim because it doesn't have a giant map and dragons.

I still like the original Diablo the most!

The thing about it being bland is subjective to the tastes of the individual playing it. The things you have to consider for it being game of the year is the undergoing it took to make it, and the manner in which the efforts therein were presented. I can't think of a single game in 2011 that remotely came close in overall quality, despite glitches, which are going to happen, especially when you make an open world game on such a large open scale.

Graphics aren't the best, but for making a new engine to run it from the ground up and spanning it across multiple platforms, they're damn good. Add some mods, they're downright gorgeous.

The soundtrack was sublime as I would expect from Jeremy Soule. He captured the essence of the landscapes and environment perfectly, and did well to add gravity to the protagonist's plight with more story/battle driven tracks.

The replay value is very high if you're one interested in undergoing different aspects of role play or character management. However, if you're going to make one person, and do things in the one way you see fit without doing anything else, then of course there will be much left to be desired.

And finally, as with virtually any Elder Scrolls game, I love how story and lore are tied in together to give a warm sense of familiarity, yet run on a timeline parallel to one another, yet not alienating the player if they're new to the series. They have plenty to catch up on, yet can appreciate the game for being it's own piece without feeling left out.

One of the things I like most about skyrim is that NPC's do a lot more than other games would bother to do. Most NPC's travel the same route constantly, but in skyrim they can go out of their houses, travel around town, or even venture outside of town into other locations.

I love seeing the companions out doing something, really makes it fun for me.

I agree. I hate how static NPCs can be in most RPGs, but it's understandable for MMOs as it gives a sense of reliability. However, in single player games, I always grew tired of them standing in the same spot 24/7, day and night, saying virtually the same things. At least Skyrim is dynamic in that they undergo various tasks, have a priority list and survival tactics should they come under harm's way. Also, if you killed someone, they were gone for good (aside from developer's console commands of course).

My current playthrough is a Paladin type. heavy armor sword/shield resto magic (no destruction).

When I finish this one I want to replay as a Ranger. I love archer play. Sadly my lv 42 assassin was deleted when I had to reformat a couple months ago and I forgot to port the save files over.

:(

Doesn't Steam, XBL and PS3 offer cloud storage for save files?

That's just the nostalgia talking!

Not really, I played both in short succession and been back playing both again many times, I liked the more sinister atmosphere of Diablo I and the simple combat system.
