I guess I must just always remind myself to be a good person. Or something!
Your behavior reminded me of a theory I had in the past Sagi. I need to submit it to some Government/Parenting authorities and see what they say lol (like a parenting magazine or something)
Bismarck.Josiahkf said: »Wanted to jot down this random thought before I forget, if anyone is bored enough to, read it and let me know what you think Theory of cyclical parenting
This starts often with a strong emotion regarding parenting but I have seen components of it begin even from a lack thereof.
A parent/guardian raises their child in a manner they deem fit. Rules and behavior are defined and habits are created. Eventually the child begins to feel strongly about the parents processes and the actual parenting, positive or negative alike and being human the negative resonant effectively.
The child grows up and the behavior and parenting methods of the father/mother/guardian are remembered and dwelled upon. The now adult becomes a parent and in turn mistakes in methods behavior and morals of their parent are avoided and effort is put in to be a better parent, to help their child gain what they lacked and to try and create any happiness they had lacked as a child in their eyes.
So in turn the second generation has now created a near opposite environment of the first generation in many ways, attempting to balance the parenting process. positive and negative behaviors/morals and processes are remembered by the third generation and in turn when they grow up and have children of their own, the whole process is repeated, trying to overcompensate and overbalance the mistakes of the previous generation in the meantime resulting in behavior similar to the first generation. Thus the cycle repeats endlessly.
The only way to avoid and remove from this cycle is to be aware of it and prevent these overcompensations and mistakes from repeating.
For the other side of it with no parents present the creation is simlier. One grows up without a parent and thus smothers their kids to overcompensate and prevent their child from feeling the pain they did. In turn the next generation tries to overcompensate again, recreating the first generations situation in essence by trying not to smother their children. (in this case and for this one example)
I remember this theory! I hope that my children will look up to me through my good actions and kindness, be happy to have me as a father and in turn not feel like they have to raise their children in the opposite manner. I tend to go against alot of cliche male behaviour anyway so I doubt I will be like most dads.

To me parenting has always been somewhat of an objective oxymoron.
Generally one would aim to project their virtues upon their child while working with their child to understand and thus diminish the flaws within each other, however, the act of projecting is a subtle and socially acceptable form of manipulation which if abused or overdone can conflict with a child's growing sense of independence and their own sense of identification of being a person.
Finding a balance or happy medium and compromise therein is probably the greatest challenge in parenting. You want to let your kid be their own person, but you don't want that "person" to end up being a rotten little terror.

Maybe it's just part of growing up (for the less extreme dads, anyways.) Sort of like, your dad is your hero all through your childhood and you think he's perfect and knows how to do or fix anything and he's always right, and then...
Well, then you grow up and realize that your dad is human and has flaws just like anyone else, and he kind of falls off his pedestal. And maybe there's resentment there naturally because of that.
Maybe that's what happened with me and my dad. Always thinking he was perfect, looking up to him, a bit of hero worship maybe, but after I went away for awhile and learned more I realized that he's not infallible. He's not always right. He's not always loving. And I think I just resent him for not being perfect, because for so long I thought he was perfect. :-(

What to do when you want to vent all of your feelings and instead a voice keeps telling you not to talk and to bottle everything up like usual?

Eventually explode onto some poor unsuspecting noobcake who provokes you at just the wrong moment. :-(
Or pick one person you trust and tell them everything. Or a diary. Or a dog. Dogs always listen, never judge.

I don't know near enough to make this judgement but I'm going to anyways. Your dad was obviously a good father.. I've hated my father since I was old enough to understand the concept of hate. Hell I probably hated him before that and just didn't realize what hate even was. You came out to be (at least from what I know through the forums) a very respectable human being. So I'd say he did his job well.
As a general rule, if your father was there throughout your life, actually cared for you, helped you when things were rough, told you the things you needed to hear even if they weren't what you wanted to hear, supported you, didn't beat/abuse you, then that's a good father.
Unfortunately I can't say any one of those things (much less all or even most of them) about mine. When I confronted him about not being there in my life or even trying to be, he told me he couldn't because my mom would be mad at him. A. Me and my mom don't get a long anyways and we don't really talk to begin with, and he knows this. B. They don't get a long and don't talk to begin with. C. He's never given a ***what she thinks about him.
He doesn't even have the balls to admit he screwed up, and that really pissed me off, probably more than the abandoning me did. It's not as if I'd give him a chance if he admitted that it was his fault or anything, but at least have the damn balls to admit your own mistakes.

I wish I had an answer to the bottling things up, I do it too.. All I can tell you is sooner or later, it's all coming out. No one can hold it all in forever, and it's usually 10x worse when you hold it in rather than let it go as it comes.

Yum! Pizza Hut's new little tiny pizzas on pieces of garlic bread are pretty good. They need to add supreme to it too though, I get bored with just pepperoni.
Baked potatoes and veggies here tonight. The potatoes are scrubbed, pierced, rubbed down with olive oil and salt, and baking at the moment.

While I was digging for that afk mule screenshot I went through all my old screenies, ah the memories... :( almost feel like crying, so I'll post something more happy looking!
Here, let me entertain you with a pic of me and Uzu queen and king of prom.
 That one Uzu?
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
