Manly movies might actually work..

I watched Act of Valor recently, holy ***, who wrote that? *** dialog (outside of the battle related dialog) is goddamned ridiculous.. It rivals C movies for cheesy-ness.

How can I do anything but laugh at that.

Awww yeah movie day!

Lets start off good with Predator#1, then move on to the Rambo Series, we'll mix it up then with Tremors #1, 2, 3, and top it off with Rumble in the Bronx.

How many people here used a VCR to record music videos off of MTV..? Was that common, or just me?

My wife's contribution: How many people raged when you were trying to watch your favorite song on TRL and they interrupted it with screaming idiots?

I did it to record episodes of Bill Nye the Science Guy and The Magic School Bus.

i think ours went the way of the dinosaur...but we used an allen wrench or something in the place of the fuse to get it to work

MTV, no, but my sisters did. And yes, that whole interrupting thing was almost as rage-inducing as when the song you wanted to hear was #2, but then they'd do the whole, "Well, here's the first 20 seconds of the song... Now we're going to cut it short so we can talk some more!"

We also had a huge VHS collection of copies of movies that we had rented (two VCRs for the win!). I still have some of them, like The Beastmaster, The Wraith, Wizards of the Lost Kingdom, Mary Poppins, etc.

I don't :< I beat one of them to death and the other I tried to dissect in an attempt to fix the coaxial on my old TV.

It's strange but my VCR used to give me Cinemax, you had to hit it right occasionaly though.. I know, it's very strange, and a horny 14 year old has no limit of patience when it comes to figuring out how to get to see titties (this was of course, before internet). You know that beginning scene in American Pie where he's watching it through the scrambling effect? sorta like that but a whole lot more clear. I just had to hit it right, I have no idea why it worked, but it did. For a couple of years, one tap in the right spot,and boom, almost completely clear titties. One day it stopped working. I kinda lost my mind.. I got a hammer and threatened it, and it didn't fix itself.

<_< moral of the story, don't take titties from a teen that has no internet.

I still have a working VCR and I used it when I was younger to record Sailormoon and Pokemon in the morning and Toonami in the afternoon.

Oh yeah! I have the entire Gundam Wing series on VHS thanks to Toonami.

It was my brilliant labeling strat. That and often times I would run out of room on a tape and be like 'omg I need a tape.. uh.. this is TAPE 1 doesn't matter how many episodes! TAPE 2 GO!"

SM = Sailor Moon :p I had a system going for a while where I would record everything for the day, then with 2 VCR I would record them onto their separate tapes. Sometimes I got a little behind on that and they became 'general tapes' >.>
