A distasteful and pornographic book, obviously <.<

Well it's not as if that's something new, though. Weren't there a quadrillion books back in the day with that long blond-haired he-man dude on them topless bending women over rocks or whatever as he licked their necks or something? I mean, distasteful books have been around since forever. And lots of women read them, most boyfriends really just don't care. :-( I'm just confused as to how this one book is getting so much attention if it's the same as all those books.

It doesn't seem pornographic unless words constitute porn nowadays.

Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic novel by British author E. L. James. Set largely in Seattle, it is the first instalment in a trilogy that traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism (BDSM).

Aw damn, I liked the name Anastasia. >< Now it's going to be all popular and I won't be able to use it! Novelists who write bad and popular things should start using bad names, like Ermengard, Ursula, and Blanche. >.>

Lol my wife has like a huge box of them up in the attic. It did used to bother me, but then she pointed something out and I realized it to be true when she pointed it out.. They 'got things going' so to speak or put her in the mood.. How can that be anything but positive for me.

That ***is stupid, though. What is the deal with some douchebags thinking they can police what types of media their significant other is enjoying? My mom's husband yelled at me because I was watching Idiocracy with my mother. He thought it was a very dirty movie and got mad at me because I'm the one who put it on. I was like, "Dude, she's 60 years old. If she didn't like it, she would have told me to change the *** channel." She's her own goddamn person, and if she wants to watch Idiocracy or read a "pornographic" book, that's on her. Super controlling ***...

Made me picture this liela lol, Page 1.
"And Anastasia was so devote in her lewd nature that any woman named Anastasia for the next hundred years would somehow sense her shameful ways throughout history and forced to be forever equally vulgar and frowned upon."
then see liela reading that page "fuuuuuuuuuu"

Lol! Yes! Names are funny to me though, they remind me of stupid things. Like Iris? Will never name a kid iris even if I love the flower because the name reminds me of eyeballs. Ilace was one of my grandmothers' names. But nope, sounds like eye-less, won't use it. Scarlet? Sounds like 'little scar,' won't use it. Was a popular name in a book or movie? Won't use it, people will assume I named the kid after the book or movie. xD It's awful and silly for me to be so picky, but dang!

Although I make an exception for Anya of the Gears of War books. Yes, it's from a book (and also a movie, since in the cartoon Anastasia, while she was orphaned with amnesia she went by Anya) but it's not popular or well-known. If I named a baby Anya, people wouldn't automatically assume she was named after a video game character, you know? Anyways, I love the name Anya.

Not the same, but I know that type of person (it takes a special kinda douche and it's not gender specific) my 'aunt' (not really family) Karla freaked THE *** out one Christmas when someone put The Exorcist on.. No one was even watching TV, then a couple of people decided to watch a movie and grabbed something and threw it on, and like 20 minutes later she walked in and saw it and everything went to *** hell..

She had to be dragged outta the goddamn house because she would not shut up.. She was yelling at the top of her lungs for 10 minutes straight before things started to get EVEN MORE heated and she was about to start literally fighting people.

If Jesus cared about that movie being played on his 'birthday', he woulda smited the person who invented the camera.

Oh yeah, it crosses the gender lines. Some people just take being offended way too seriously. My father is a huge homophobe, so I'm not even allowed to talk about a gay person in his vicinity. It runs in the family though, which sucks because I have a cousin who is a lesbian, but she can never come out to her parents or mine lest she get disowned by their uber-conservative point of view.

But you should have seen his face when I told him what "Tea Bagging" meant. *** hilarious.

I have only seen the first couple episodes of Buffy. :-( I was watching them in order on Amazon prime and got distracted for the past three months. And have never heard the goo goo dolls song, I don't think. Unless I heard it on the radio and didn't know it was them. /blush

And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
That everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
