What I'm thinking right now:
Is it just me or does the use of the "Profanity List" and the effort to cover up the word(s), just draw even more attention to the word itself? You can scan almost any page of any thread and find random text of these words. As for the half attempted efforts to censor the words, this only seems to it makes it a guessing game, or "fill in the blank" if you will, to anyone who doesn't already know, and if you don't already know what it says you are probably should be on a forum more suited to your age. I realize this is a rule and respect that. Just tired of hearing about it and mods seem to be exerting a lot of energy that could go elsewhere trying to enforce this constantly. But srsly... just saying
I'm sure they don't want to actually enforce the rule as it's tiring and they know that most of us can easily handle the profanity used. But it's not their choice, it's Google's. This has been explained many times before and so far has been the only reason given to us as to why we even have a profanity filter.
Yes the profanity filter sucks, and no one actually wants to enforce it. But we don't have a choice as the site is funded by Google Ads. Deal with it, it's not that hard.
