Okay I don't want to seem like too much of a dummy, but if I were to nab myself a 5.1 channel speaker system, would I still be able to get surround sound out of my xbox via the HDMI audio adapter (since this reroutes the audio signal to RCA while keeping the HD video signal from the HDMI cable)?
I know analog RCA is the general standard as far as audio inputs go, but would it be able to provide surround sound even though it's simply two channels (white and red, left and right)?
I know modern computer sound cards cater multiple outputs specifically for surround sound as shown with the orange and black outputs.
