you must enjoy all that mold growing through it, you know, they make a similar cheese in central europe that they let mature to the point that it has maggots in it. the maggots are a delicacy

You can find alot of cheeses over in europe that could get a store shut down if they were selling it over here.

Some cuts of beef are aged for several months and stored in specific humidifiers til they reach their peak age of flavor. To anyone else, it'd just be old rotten beef. There's countless foods that undergo various processes that may seem questionable in terms of food safety and sanitation, but maintain steadfast preservation and offer higher or different degrees of flavor. The FDA would simply never allow it unfortunately, yet are perfectly fine with pink slime and medications that increase chances of a heart attack by 50%.

He is correct though mold and/or bacteria in cheeses are pritty normal and won't hurt you (if its the ones that are supposed to be in it atleast), it is what makes the holes in swiss cheese for example. Hes right about the maggoty cheese too, and they do eat it with the maggots in I'm pritty sure though the name of the cheese escapes me atm.
