My game design class has taken a turn for the fudged up. So far my teacher has pretty consistently given us assignments with tutorials to go along with them, basically just asking us to make minor tweaks to make things our own. For example we made a very basic 1-player pong game using a tutorial that provided all the code and said where to put it. Our assignment was to make our own sound files and image files to go into it.
Now this week he just posts "Make your game into a 2-player version which will keep track of the scores and declare a winner when a point limit is reached." No tutorial, no tips, and this is not covered in any of the texts.
I am sure with the right amount of googling I will be able to find an example or a walkthrough, but I can't help but wonder if he thinks we should know how to do this already, and that I should not need to look anything up.
I dunno, frustrating, wah wah, I am mad bro, my butt hurts.
My shop teacher in junior high was like that.. At one point he'd just tell us how to do everything, then he'd just randomly switch it up and like ask you what you need to do next and why you need to do it and I would always just stand there and in my head go "uh.. well we've had about a solid month of you just telling us what to do, and not why to do it, well how the hell am I supposed to know?"
