So I saw a video looking into the Tera beta, and I must say it looks gorgeous. Though I'd want to see the general direction, mechanic and lore of the game before I spend hours on end grinding and playing fetch quests over and over again. Plus it better have damn good lore and stories to tell than most MMOs.
Also I bet Ludoggy plays an Elin xD Yep. I do >:
They are so cute...
I tried making mine look like a mouth breather and stupid but the whole slack jaw made it cuter :(
The fighting system is just awesome. Didnt see any ffxi story telling. Just WoW quest storys.

In that case I'll likely play GW2/Tera for gameplay/fun and begrudgingly drag myself through FFXI/XIV for story :/
Hopefully someday we'll get the graphics and storytelling of SE in combination with the fun and action-esque gameplay of these new Korean MMOs.

Damn you guys, stop making me want to play FFXIV. :/ Pretty sure this laptop can't even run that damn thing.
What kind of specs are on your laptop?
Mine is a 2.10GHz tri-core (AMD Phenom II), 4GB memory, and a Radeon Mobility HD 4250 dedicated video card (which, I believe is 256MB), and it scored something like a 330 on the benchmark test.
Obviously, the video card is my main issue, as everything else was at or above SE's requirements.

I'd recommend NOT downloading straight from SE, as it was going to take forever when I tried it.
I'd say your graphics will be the main issue. Possibly the processor too, since that one is apparently not a multi-core model, and they recommend 2+ cores for FFXIV. Nevermind, re-read and it's a dual-core. Should be fine.

The new survey had a question on new races people whould like to see after the implimentation of Male miqo'te and female rogs and highlanders and possibly 2.0, ( if you still have ya account ya can log into the official site and vote for em) also new jobs/classes

No problem. Good luck! Just don't let it hurt your feelings if it points at you and laughs by the end of the benchmark. (I didn't know what running the benchmark would do at first... It was pretty neat to watch, even if it was pretty laggy.)
I think I'd like FFXIV, but there's no way I'm spending the money to build a new PC when I just bought this laptop last year. ; ;

Make sure you have the newest version of DirectX... I had to download it before I could run the benchmark. Don't know why I didn't have it already.

The benchmark is pretty pointless because it scored very low for me yet I played on high with no difficulties :/

Make sure you have the newest version of DirectX... I had to download it before I could run the benchmark. Don't know why I didn't have it already. Yea, I'm not sure what it is. DirectX is up to date as are all my other drivers, unless I'm somehow forgetting something. :/ Oh well.

I'm not sure what else could be up with it, Spath. I'd assume you're running it as an Administrator already? I don't remember having to do anything else special with it once the file was unzipped.
Unless your on-board video just can't handle it at all. (Which is possible, since it's integrated video.) Does it crash or does it just sit there?
