So do you have to be under 25 to be considered young these days? lol
So by that account...

I'm still old as dirt.

All three of us are "old" then. Gah! Stop bringing it up. Uri's ears are ringing.
We're not old, Zah. We've simply gained Sage-like wisdom.

I like the sound of that. What advice would you give to the youth of FFXIAH?

Yeah, I rather not use anything too exploitive in nature aside from something like dual send and windower plugins.
It'll suck not being as self sufficient with a passive white mage behind me at all times but the management and focus of a singular character may be worth it assuming I can find some comrades on the Fenrir server.

I'll have to give a serious attempt at setting things up before I dismiss the notion of dual boxing.
I honestly found playing starcraft 2 helped my dual boxing more than almost anything else. I had always been kinda "who cares" about dual boxing my mules until I noticed I was at like 100cpm on starcraft and 40~ on ffxi. Got a whole new mentality about playing 2 accounts because of it.

Edit: alt+tab switcher btw

Yeah, I rather have direct control over each character as convenient as it'd be to have a button or command issue the command across accounts so I can focus at the task at hand, but perhaps I just need to hone my skills at alt+tabbing.

Ahh, to each his own then. Though you couldn't tell if my alt was being botted or someone was controlling really. Most things though were covered by the 54 extra keys all used to cast/use various spells/abilities. I mainly left the bots to do the simple tasks of self buffs and the like. Xi Utilities is on the windower site as an approved program in case you didn't know. It has all kinds of nifty things in it for dualboxers.

Here is a sample of what my "G-keys" did for me: This is simply a txt file in the windower scripts folder I would execute solely on my alt. Then when I would press the corresponding key, said key would do what you see below.
Code
alias m1g1 input /ma "Cure V" rule;
alias m1g2 input /ma "Cure VI" rule;
alias m1g3 input /ma "Haste" rule;
alias m1g4 input /ma "Auspice" <me>;
alias m1g5 input /ma "Erase" rule;
alias m1g6 input /ma "Paralyna" rule;
alias m1g7 input /ma "Silena" rule;
alias m1g8 input /ma "Blindna" rule;
alias m1g9 input /ma "Stona" rule;
alias m1g10 input /ma "Viruna" rule;
alias m1g11 input /ma "Cursna" rule;
alias m1g12 input /ma "Esuna" <me>;
alias m1g13 input /ma "Sneak" rule;
alias m1g14 input /ma "Invisible" rule;
alias m1g15 input /ma "Protectra V" <me>;
alias m1g16 input /ma "Shellra V" <me>;
alias m1g17 input /ma "Protect V" rule;
alias m1g18 input /ma "Shell V" rule;

Oh and here is a Lightluggage abyssea script that helps with treasure. (The Misc. Items section I tweaked to my individual geode/avarite needs.)

Ah. I have never played Mass Effect, so I am immune to it's claws.

Do it. It's like a futuristic star trek. AND it has voice acting from Counsellor Troi and Worf :O <3!!!

The sad part is I didn't have to look it up to recognise the voices lol xD
I think one of the cylons from BSG does one of them as well... not too good at recognizing their names but I know they use alot of voice actors from tv series and movies.

Dunno but thanks to them I don't trust anything with tentacles and hate fighting malboros and uraginites.

Yeah, the biggest help is DualSend, dualboxing was a nightmare and overly complicated before I found it. It takes a bit of getting used to but you can do everything except moving your alt around without ever having to lose focus on your main thanks to it.

Yeah, just PM me when you want to streamline the process or whatever.

I wish they would reinstate taxes in all towns. Would make all the bazaars move back outside; which, IMHO, was a much better place.

Edit~ Twas another reason I started using Clipper. No sense in it taking 15-30 seconds just to move from the mog house exit due to the 50 or so people afk right there.

They really should make a zone specifically for afk bazaar mules since they never implemented that personal vendor NPC like they have in XIV.
They can even designate corners or stalls for people selling specific items or miscellaneous crap. That way nobody has to lag like crazy or hit a brick wall of people upon exiting their MH every time they go to and from Jeuno.

I forget what game it was, but one I used to play had a function that you could only use in town. You would type in something like "/warp shop" and it would warp you to a series of zones specifically for bazaars and the like. You could still put up shop/bazaars in normal places but you had a tax if you didn't do it in those specific zones.

I really think the tax should work the other way around. The buyer shouldn't suffer the penalty of an increased price at the irresponsibility or neglect of the vendor. If anything that tax should give a reduction in their sale while the buyer retains their static/given price.

They did that on lolGaiaOnline. Stuff put in the Marketplace have a percentage tax that goes into internet limbo instead of anyone's pockets.

This other game, the tax in it essentially did just that. Say you had something for sale for 50000 gold in a tax area. The tax would take like 30000 of it, it would cost the buyer 50000 still but the seller would only make 20000. They had it extremely high just to keep people from bazaaring in the wrong place.

I disagree cause then a seller should change/remove all his bazaar everytime he zones into town so to avoid being undercut. The tax on buyers works either way cause they will just buy outside and sellers will move outside as well for a faster chance at profit.

While I see what you mean, that's the nature of being a seller. You have to fluxuate your inventory and said prices based on regional location and the presence or therelack of taxes. The penalty shouldn't be towards the buyer as a sort of deterrent from overpopulating the city with bazaars. The seller should be the one motivated to move to ideal locations, not the buyer.

It's also a video game, not a real market.
Just sayin'.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. Would be easier if you could designate prices on stuff then just simply turn your bazaar off with a single button instead of having to go in and set everything back to zero.

Either way, they need to find some way to get all the bazaars out of the city and either into a zone specifically for bazaars or back outside.
