football makes me want to slap people...
I don't typically watch it, either. I especially dislike athletes because I had to take college classes with way too many of them! But all grudges are off when a family member's favorite team makes it to the Superbowl. ^^ Any excuse for a party!
a lot of english majors are athletes? O_o
English majors have stupidly easy classes and lots of room for exploratory classes. I'm not sure what other schools call them, they are classes that you take to fill up credits, but that you don't need for your major. So of course everyone wants into the beginning poetry classes for English majors, because everyone thinks they are a poet. (My degree is a B.A. in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing with a specialty in Poetry and I'm still crappy at poems. They suck!) And everyone tries to cram into the same exploratory classes because everyone wants an easy grade or a class they can sleep through.
When I was a dance major though, it was the same problem. You don't have to learn a thing in dance class, you only have to show up. So the athletics department would stuff football players into Hip Hop and Jazz dance to give them an easy A so they would maintain a high enough GPA to play football. And even then, lord they ticked me off! I swear, they had an excuse every single day on why they shouldn't have to participate. "Oh boo-hoo my pinky toe is sore! Can I sit this one out?" I'm sorry, but if you are healthy enough to play football you are healthy enough to get your *** on the floor and dance instead of just sitting and watching all the girls dance! Effin athletes, lol.

There is for sure such a thing as a dance major! ^^ You can major in teaching dance, choreography, or performing. You can minor in all of those, as well. And it's a required side-course for theater majors at my school, too! I started college as a dance major, then decided to branch off into other things and dropped it to a minor, then hurt my knees and dropped it altogether. I was 1 class credit away from having it listed as a minor on my degree when I had to drop for my knee injury.

oh the things people consider as sports.
I wouldn't say I detest magic but I've never played, I don't have the level of enthusiasm to be all D&D nerdy like a lot of those people are.
(I keep getting asked to go to the comic store on sat to participate in games...)
the most nerdy thing I've probably played is Yu Gi OH, well aside from the video games.

On the football thing though, honestly I wouldn't even be a Seahawks fan except that everyone in the family is required to have a team. So I watched one quarter of one Seahawks game ever, decided I liked their name and their colors, and I'm sorta close to Seattle anyways, so Seahawks it is! And that was about 4 years ago and I haven't watched another Seahawks game since then. But they are still my team and I'll still defend them. It's required!
So I'm the Seahawks, my husband is the Rams, my Dad has about 4 favorite teams but he prefers to root against teams he doesn't like instead of for teams he does like (O.o?), my brother-in-law loves the Patriots, my mom-in-law loves the Colts, my sister-in-law roots for the Bengals. It's a big mess. xD

You can join a dance team and travel the world! There's dance teams everywhere. And every dance team needs a choreographer, so there's those everywhere too. There's also a nice demand for dance teachers because everyone wants their 5-year old daughters to learn ballet, and cheerleaders are supposed to get taught basic dance, and most universities have a dance team in addition to cheerleaders that dance at their football games and go to competitions. It's actually kind of scary how much dance there is!
And Vyre, you are probably a better poet than me! I like reading poems, but I was never, ever good at writing them. lol ;;

Also, I don't know about that Liela. I tend to just write them, and not really stick to all those forms like sonnets with their strict 14 line form, and I also don't really try to imitate many of the greats. I'm pretty sure that the majority of the few people who have read my poems think of it as angsty and horrible lol.

Sonnets are for Shakespeare. I prefer free-verse, myself. :o A woman's face with Nature's own hand painted
Hast thou, the master-mistress of my passion;
A woman's gentle heart, but not acquainted
With shifting change, as is false women's fashion;
An eye more bright than theirs, less false in rolling,
Gilding the object whereupon it gazeth;
A man in hue, all 'hues' in his controlling,
Much steals men's eyes and women's souls amazeth.
And for a woman wert thou first created;
Till Nature, as she wrought thee, fell a-doting,
And by addition me of thee defeated,
By adding one thing to my purpose nothing.
But since she ***'d thee out for women's pleasure,
Mine be thy love and thy love's use their treasure.
Always makes me chuckle.

Sonnets are for Shakespeare. I prefer free-verse, myself. :o Me too. I mean, I always like that one line one of those transcendentalists said, "Poetry is an emotional overflow." or something like that. How am I suppose to just convey what I'm feeling if I have to think about the form in which I am puting it? Course, there are sometimes where singling out a line or something adds emphasis, but it's whatever. Most people don't care for poems anyway.

I used to hate poetry, but lately thanks to all the literature classes I'm taking, I'm beginning to understand it a bit more. Right now my favorite poem of all time is "Rime of The Ancient Mariner." However, I also enjoy Crane's "A Man Said to the Universe."

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
