I see an excelent MS paint challenge for next week!

Has anyone ever owned Heelys? Wondering if they are acceptable to walk in w/ the wheels in

they were banned at my high school

I've never owned a pair myself but I would think it would be possible but not very comfortable or easy to walk in them with the wheels in. Hell, they may not even be comfortable with the wheel out, I mean that's the main thing to the shoe; it can't be too comfortable of a shoe to begin with. Just IMO.

Ever wore skater shoes? Like Etnies? Same difference really. Skater shoes are very flat, they're okay when you're young but when you get older they offer no support in the right areas, they're not really meant for comfort though.. My brother had to have specific shoes to skate in, just any shoe would throw everything off.. I started wearing them because I just like the look =/ and they're tough as *** (they have to be to stand up the grip tape) if you're not skating, a single pair can last you many years and still look good. Pretty sure the pair I have now is at least 1.5-2 years old and they still look brand new.

Also, the other day we went looking for a new A/C and either Home Depot or Lowes had an announcement thing that would play in between the music that I kinda giggled at.. It specifically forbid letting your children use them in the store.

Dawkins was... interesting. I think Krauss caught me yawning, though. I suppose that's the problem with sitting in the first row.

edit: That and the chick sitting next to me... I think she bathed in perfume. It stank so damn bad. And the guy she was with... she didn't even know his damn name.

I have a pair of DC and VANS. lol

I figured they would be more comfortable than Heelys since most of what a Heelys's shoe is plastic in the sole. Just a guess though.

On the inside they're just like any other shoe, Etnies don't have a lot of cushion, I'm not sure of Vans or DCs, I don't like their style so much (DCs are closer to what I'd like in a shoe, but even their 'simple models' it's still a bit too flashy for me.) but yeah, the inside on a Etnie is extremely stiff and doesn't have a lot of give.. Basically the same thing inside a Heely..

I actually need to get out of this fashion of wearing Etnies because I'm more than halfway to 27 now and I can't stand up for more than hour without it feeling like someone is driving nails into my heels.. I need something with more support and cushion and something that will get me away from putting all my weight on my heel (I have pretty flat feet, and for whatever reason, putting my weight all on my heels has been natural to me since I was a kid, but it's starting to take it's toll now that I'm a 100 pounds heavier than I was when I was 6 =/) but Etnies are the only shoe I like the look of..

I haven't liked 'normal shoes' since Jordans first became popular... So hard to find a nice, understated shoe.. My shoes aren't there to be a damned fashion statement.. They're there because people look at me funny when I walk into a grocery store barefoot..

I never had Jordans. I did however use to have Shaqs.

Same difference, they look ridiculous.. And lord help you if you step on someone's shoes while wearing those.. You'll be lucky if you ONLY get stabbed..

I was actually still walking into grocery stores barefoot when I was 12 or 13.. I don't like shoes.. They're just a huge pain in the ***. Probably not now, but years ago I could run like the wind barefoot, put me in shoes and I just trip all over the place.. I still can't really walk in them well.. They're just so ridiculously cumbersome to me.

I thoroughly enjoy walking barefoot whenever I can. But I think I get more strange looks and awkward comments about the way I walk when I do so. :x

Well it was true.. <_< I doubt it anymore.. But for years there was only one other person in our entire school who could run faster than I could. Too bad I was never interested in sports.. I could probably of had a college scholarship.

I cant do barefoot well. The ground is too hot most of the year. Thats what flipflops are for though^^

I hate flipflops. I just can't understand why anyone would wanna wear em. XP

:x I'm sorry if I ever felt the need to wear flipflops I feel I'd save quite a bit of money just taking some string and some pieces of cardboard and tying them to my feet. They'd work about the same if not better anyway.

I wear shoes mostly because of, 1) awkward stares I get if I don't. 2) to protect my feet from unfavorable barefoot situations (such as walking through snow) and 3) Just as an accessory to clothing in general. :x If I'm gonna have shoes they're gonna at least look semi-good to me so I can believe they'll draw away attention from my gait if anyone actually does happen to look at my feet for whatever reason.

They wear them because either they think people want to see their feet (usually girls who paint their toe nails) or they're too lazy to bend over and put on actual shoes..

That's another thing... what is the point in painting your toe nails, ladies? Do you really expect people to just be staring at them? o.O Fingernails are one thing, they're much more out in the open. But I barely notice those being painted unless I'm particularly interested in a women, as in like I'm straight infatuated with you already.

I like wearing those Jesus sandals. It's not groovy to wear my typical black steel toed boots in 120 degree summers.

Go barefoot or get a pair of lighter shoes?

according to my mom and sister it just makes themselves feel pretty to get their toes done not really for other people to look at them
