As to your statement, sometimes combinations of foods you can't stand end up working out. Like, uh...

Oh! I got one! Cooked carrots = nasty. Cream cheese with nothing else = artery clogging blobbiness. But put the two together and bam! Carrot Cake.

The Alfredo sauce I add extra seasoning to (one of which is cayenne) that gives it a slight peppery kick.. (Although wife said this time it was a bit too spicy) the sweetness and juiciness of the corn makes for a good compliment.

The first pic is basically what I'm talking about.. It was corn on the cob, but I cut it off right before I eat it, just easier.

I use white pepper and cayenne pepper. (I also throw in a bit more Parmesan and Italian herbs.. I don't make it myself, and the stuff you buy in a jar is always a bit bland)

Pretty good, even if you don't reach the point where you can taste the pepper in it or it becoming even slightly peppery, it still makes the sauce pop..

Ah, but I do love a peppery sauce. I always use the lowest setting on the pepper grinder, and go at it for like a half hour. I'm like a tiger; I love pepper.

As a kid broccoli was my favorite thing to eat for some reason.

I've liked it since a kid too.. Well not 'kid' more like young teen.. It's definitely not something I only liked once I was an adult..

I prefer just steamed. I don't need anything else with it. When I go to a restaurant and get a steak and I get a choice of two vegetables, more times then not, I'll just order a double serving of steamed broccoli.
