I own Elfen Lied on DVD I love that story.

Surprised no one has mentioned Hellsing Ultimate, probably one of the best gruesome anime shows I"ve ever seen. Impressively drawn and animated too.
I've seen the original Hellsing. Was pretty good.

I recommend Hellsing Ultimate, it has a pretty good story to it, and was a lot longer than the original. Plus the art was a lot more clean and crisp. :3 ...MMM DO LOVE ME SOME BLOOD IN THE MORNING.
Alucard is amazing, but I love Alexander Anderson, my favorite char on there by far.

i liked paranoia agent when it was on adult swim, it was pretty mindfucking.
i also read a bit of Highschool of the Dead before it ever came out as an anime, it was really too. i got to the part where they had left the school and they were resting at that house after not being able to get through the blockade Leon is lurking >.>

When I started Higurashi I had no clue what it was about so when it started turning...weird...I was like wtf is happening here?
Not like I learned my lesson at all though...I thought School days was a quiet school-life anime, then something went wrong lol.

Isn't it supposed to be impossible to have 2 BS/KS/KC/HKC in the loot pool of a single party at a time? I came back from afk and 2 was a KC and HKC there with just myself, my cure slave and thf friend in a single party. Went to SS it but the older one droped before I could get it, also not the first time I've seen it happen recently.
I've seen Elfen Lied. I own it.
One of the most gruesome scenes I've seen would be Satoko's torture -> death scene via the culprit
