Effin' ffs. The toilet in our new apartment is really twitchy, have to hold down the flusher for just the exact amount of time to get it to flush and not overflow and all that crap. (pun intended, ahahaha that's not funny.)
Anyways, so we've been here just a few months and it's overflowed twice already. The building is old, plumbing is old, utilities are old, can't really be helped. The first time my husband was here to deal with it.
But then it happened again today and he's at work. I've never used a plunger before but I think I'm no princess, I can handle this. I mopped up the overflow with towels and watched a youtube video on how to un-plug a toilet and make it flush.
Lolno. I did what the video said-- made sure there was some water in the bowl, stick the plunger in, make a tight-fitting seal over the hole, plunge up and down about 12 times. Nothing happened. The video didn't say whether or not I was supposed to flush afterwards. So I wanted to be on the safe side, so I repeated all the steps once more just to be sure the blockage or whatever was gone, then reached over and flushed the stupid toilet.
And it overflowed on me again! That effin *** porcelain piece of crap-munching crap!
I'm running out of towels to sop this stuff up with. >.> I'm just gonna hold my bladder til my man comes home and fixes it. Poor guy, I'd hate being a guy. Walk half an hour to work, work all day, walk half an hour home and get presented with an overflown toilet to fix. How utterly charming. I'm gonna make his dinner extra tasty to make up for it and fix his favorite drink and put cookies on his ice cream for dessert. :-(

If it's any consolation, I chose the first mathematical image I could find. Most of the time it's not that nasty...

:x comfort.
dont flush, a plunger should make it all go away, usually there is a slight "pop" sound once its unplugged. can also buy some Drano and pour it into the toilet, that helps a lot.

If it's any consolation, neither did I until about two or three weekends ago.
You're kind enough to host a house party for the Rangers advancing in the play-offs, and you're thanked with a caramel-colored miscarriage in your half bath! No one will fess up to it either! Still angry that I had to deal with that. Can't you tell?

When? Last night? I might have been AFK or something. I don't know. I was incredibly tired, and my brain was working at half-capacity. I don't think I ever received anything from you, but I could be wrong.

It's a bathroom that just includes the toilet and the sink. Something for guests usually.

I'll probably be on a bit later after I clean up and have some dinner. Not sure though. I've been getting frustrated with LoL lately.

Understandable, I find it a good stress reliever for me just cause I know I suck and I just don't care. XP Then when I actually get a kill and I'm doing somewhat well I can get all super excited.

I work with a bunch of plumbers, who all say Draino is the worst thing you could do. I guess boiling water in combination with a plunger is just as effective, if not more. & it doesn't eat away at your pipes.

It use to relieve stress for me, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist. When I don't make progress, or can't fully support my team the way I should in PvP, I just get really frustrated with myself.

I also don't see how boiling water would help if you've got standing water either. At least Draino is thick enough to sink through to the pipes.
I dunno. I used draino stuff before (I don't think it was the actual brand though), but it didn't do anything. My blockage was too far out, and the city actually had to take care of it next to the road.

I just pulled the head hancho service plumber aside :D
he says it's a good handcleaner, otherwise don't use it.
In addition to destroying waste pipe, if it pops back up, will eat the chrome on fixtures. His advice (many years in ze business) is boiling water + a plunger, if no luck there, snake.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
