I can't stand those mouse pads that have that little wrist rest on them.. They get in the way of my gaming. Nothing worse than lining up a long range sniper shot, only to have that rest block the mouse from moving more right when you're taking the shot and cockblock you.. Or when you're being pecked to death from behind by someone with a pistol and you try to spin, only to turn halfway and stop..

Damn right nerd rage.. No nerd (gaming nerd at least) designed those things, they're extremely impractical.. Besides playing a fast paced game like an FPS your wrist doesn't do a lot of resting anyways.. Playing an FPS with a keyboard and mouse, the mouse becomes the conductor's stick.. It needs to flow freely and unobstructed..

I use my pink to steady the mouse and add resistance when I'm fine tuning a shot, other than that, no part of me rests anywhere near or on the mouse pad.

I do too. That's why I usually just use right joystick and right trigger.

This is my face every time someone talks about FPS and combines that with talk of controllers/consoles

My friend and I have been going over the PC vs. Console debate for months, now. We're both too stubborn to admit the other person (me) has won. I'll admit that computers have the capacity to be amazing and better than consoles, but only if you have computer knowledge and one that costs more than $500. This pos laptop I have lags while playing the original Portal. But with consoles, there's none of that 1337ness, and the games I buy for them work every time. I can't say the same for the computer.

Computers take more patience, and there are games that are far better suited to consoles/controllers.. FPS is actually one of the very few genres that I will actively go for PC over Consoles on.. Adventure games, driving games, action games, etc are all better suited to consoles.. However, I just cannot deal with a couple of joysticks when I'm trying to shoot a relatively quick moving target at range.. I need a mouse, the joystick just keeps moving until you 'tell it to stop' the mouse stops exactly where you put it.

I have no problem with consoles, nor do I think of them as inferior, you need to be decent with computers if you want to start gaming on one, because you are going to have compatibility problems at some point that you have to solve. Also, generally speaking, just any run of the mill pre-built machine you bought at Wal-Mart isn't going to run the 'good games' very well, if it will at all..

I just have an aversion to FPS on a controller. I like the reaction time I can have on a mouse, and I don't care how good someone thinks they are on console, they simply cannot beat the reaction time offered by a mouse.
