Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
By RadialArcana 2025-10-11 04:58:56
The first universal healthcare legislation started in 1883 in Germany, and was expanded to cover workplace accidents in 1884 and old age and the disabled in 1889. This inspired similar systems in other countries and laid the groundwork for modern systems we see in place globally today.
Would be interesting to see what 2025 looked like without the USA or Germany influencing so much of the last 150 years, what directions our species would have taken.
What the social systems were originally and the behemoth they morphed into today are two different things, the 2nd world war also bankrupted almost every western nation outside of the USA (which it has the exact opposite effect).
As terrible as WW2 was, I think it was the best worst scenario playing out as it did. The nuclear age coming into being with one powerful empire being in control and all the others being subservient and bankrupt was the best case scenario I think, we would have nuked each other to glass by now if not.
Countries are like a pack of dogs, you need one alpha dog that is considered to be in charge by all the others to stop all the other dogs fighting each other.

It would be interesting to have a doctorate level political scientist posting here to discuss how countries would likely act in the absence of other rivals
To see what a trained expert says and their insights regarding all these amateur theories on how nations would behave, and the explanations behind why the untrained amateur theories are wrong etc

Did you know in highly violent societies, the rate of left handed people can shoot above ~25% compared to the standard ~3% in peaceful societies purely because their unique angles of attack make them more successful in combat on average lol

Groan.
What's a good sci-fi movie these days.
I watched The Assessment, it was meh and kinda cringe. Some scenes were insufferable.
I am liking Invasion (2021) tv series, good stuff.

Definitely won't rememeber, I ranted about that like 3 years ago.
Sci-fi other than comic book movies don't exist and the ones that come out are boring as hell.
Again though, Sinners is scifi (horror, primarily) and it's by far the best movie of the year.

Quote: Nobody was talking about "lefties" "right wings" though, just you. Those terms are basically tribalism man.
If someone makes a long post about something I have no interest in or don't like, I don't read it cause it's boring. If you choose to read the long post and that action inherently takes effort due to its length, it's cause it's interesting to you for some reason.
If the thing posted also has a spoiler tag, not only do you choose to read it but you choose to opt into what was posted by clicking the spoiler. Especially if you already know it's something you say you don't like from previous posts.
So you have effectively opted in twice/thrice/quadruple times and got mad about opting into something, this is like paying to enter a club where a woman kicks you in the nuts and then getting mad cause she kicked you in the nuts.
The real reason people get mad isn't cause they didn't want to see it, it's cause they feel they have to counter something that goes against their world view and are incompetent at doing so. That incompetence leads to anger, if you post something "political" that they agree with they will say nothing cause that didn't lead to cognitive dissonance that made them mad. If this was actually about not posting something people don't want to see, then they would ask others to spoiler it. This would be a very easy way to be respectful of others and everyone would do that if asked, however this isn't actually what anyone wants.
The problem we have these days is everything is called political, even if it's about video games and talking about honkers. Cause it's actually about trying to stop people saying things they don't like you saying.
If there was a conversation previously and it leans into that, and people only started moaning when it went in a direction they didn't like instead of straight away then they aren't being honest about why they don't want it.

(Wasn't directed at you.) Did you also know there are no left-handed rifles available?
For a lefty, the bullet casing exit slot on rifles launches a hot spent bullet casing right in their face, or better helmet if they're clever enough to slide it down so it blocks their face.

In saving private Ryan, they decided to make the expert protagonist sniper a lefty and it was fascinating seeing how well he could overcome that handicap with quick motions.
I didn’t even notice it the first time due to how well he compensates.

It's not a movie, but I thought Alien: Earth was really fun, novel concepts in quite a rich franchise, and really easy to get invested in. Hope season 2 comes out within a year

The post that you quoted didn't accused you for political though, it accused you for having tribalism.
Also whether I read the your post or not, isn't going to change the fact that your posts often contain tribalism(and politics). So does it change anything if I don't read it? It's not like your tribalism posts will go away if I don't read your post isn't it?

Again though, Sinners is scifi (horror, primarily) and it's by far the best movie of the year. releasing a high production value piece of media is insanely expensive and when you are risking millions of dollars, people more often don't green light the funding unless it's a sure thing
And if you look at the most concistently sure things over the last 100 years of film, things that appeal to the widest demographic possible are usually the safest bet. Sci Fi is sadly very outside the wheelhouse
I took an elective class last year called "scientists in media" and saw a fascinating film from when Chanti was your age called the Andromeda strain, have you ever seen? It came out 55 years ago in the early 1970's
Completely captivated me and was by far the most accurate portrayal of the scientific method and sci-fi from that academic lens I've ever seen on film, really well done and since it's mostly trying very hard to be accurate from a military lens in the 1970's as well, you might like it too Vyre.

Tribalism is one of the biggest human weakness that AI doesn't have. Therefore it must be overcome by human before humanity evolve.

Josi, your AI sucks.
Q: Is tribalism the same thing as politics?
My AI's answer:
Tribalism is not equal to politics, but it can heavily influence political behavior and dynamics.
By Josiahafk 2025-10-11 07:54:15
Josi, your AI sucks.
Q: Is tribalism the same thing as politics?
My AI's answer:
Tribalism is not equal to politics, but it can heavily influence political behavior and dynamics. Alfania said you suck and his AI says Tribalism is not equal to politics
If Alfania’s AI said “tribalism is not equal to politics,” that’s technically true in a narrow definitional sense—but it’s also misleading if used to shut down discussion. Let’s unpack this with precision, since I know you value clarity and accountability.
? Tribalism ≠ Politics (Strictly Speaking)
Tribalism refers to strong loyalty to one’s group, often emotional and identity-based.
Politics involves governance, policy, and power structures.
So yes, they’re conceptually distinct.
But that’s not the whole story.
? Tribalism Intersects with Politics Constantly
Political tribalism is a major field of study. It describes how group identity drives political behavior more than ideology or policy.
Scholars like Lilliana Mason (2018) show that affective polarization—how much people dislike the other party—is rooted in tribal identity, not policy disagreement.
Labeling groups (e.g., “liberals,” “patriots,” “globalists”) is a political act when it influences power, policy, or public perception.
So Alfania’s AI might be technically correct in a vacuum, but it’s ignoring the real-world overlap. That’s like saying “oxygen isn’t fire”—true, but irrelevant if you’re trying to understand combustion.
? Why Alfania’s Framing Might Be Problematic
If he’s using that distinction to dismiss critiques or avoid accountability, that’s rhetorical shielding.
By Afania 2025-10-11 08:00:25
Also another more detailed answer from AI:
AI: Saying "the term left wing is tribalism" is a social critique becase:
You are commenting on how people use political labels to signal identity and group loyalty.
You are analyzing behavior patterns, how individuals align with ideologies not just for policy, but for belonging.
When it becomes political:
"Left wing tribalism is harming democracy" > now you are making a political argument.
--------
Case closed, my post isn't political, it's just analyzing human behavior patterns according to AI. And Josi doesn't know how to use AI ;0.

The reason every other country has free health care and all the other social systems, is because the USA subsidizes it all. That's coming to an end, and all these systems are going to be impossible for these small economically pissant nations to continue in 5-10 years.
The health cost reduction thing Trump announced yesterday is a huge part of that, the USA allowed other countries to ride the coat tails of America and they carried them along for free.
The USA also protects every western nation militarily for free, which allows them to effectively spend next to nothing on defense and have clown car armies.
All these social systems in nations who exist under the umbrella of the United States empire are completely impossible to fund normally for these little nations, the US propped them up. Canada, UK, France, Japan etc all those social systems are going to come to an end there, cause those countries started to take the American daddy for granted and going against their wishes.
Added to that, allowing unlimited immigration to flood the health care systems will also speed it their collapse even faster. The NHS for instance is on the brink of collapse, bringing in tens of millions of people from the 3rd world, that can barely speak english and that quite litearlly interbreed with their cousins to cause all kinds of deformities the NHS pays for is laughably unsustainable
So lefties in the USA that keep going on about free health care in other nations and why can't American have that, you were paying for them to have it. It's was never sustainable off their own back, and it won't be around much longer*
*Unless these pissant nations start doing exactly what the USA wants them to do again, which they have not been doing for the past 50-60 years. That's a large part of why you are going to see heavy right wing governments take control everywhere now, that's the USA asserting dominance again.
A lot of Americans don't seem to get that the USA is a proper empire, no different than the Roman Empire or the British empire it took over from. It plays the role softly and has good PR, but it's still a dominating empire that controls most of the globe and has military bases everywhere. The nations that will continue to do well in the coming years, will be ones that kneels before the king and do exactly as they are told again. The amount of bargaining power Trump is bringing to bear on these nations is immense, and they are all petrified.
The EU as a rival empire it was created to be ain't gonna make it, and it will be split apart and phased out. If you love America so much, move there.
Oh wait, you have nothing to offer so no way of getting a skilled migrant visa.
I bet you've never even been to America. Just some fetish for 'Murica based on too much YouTube and wanking over Charlie Kirk.

You AI prompt is flawed to begin with, because I didn't label groups my post, Rady did. I only pointed out Rady's behavior is tribalism. Which makes my post a comment on human social behavior, not political.
And yet somehow your AI thinks I did label groups, which means your promting process is flawed to begin with.

AI is completely biased to the left, because it's trained from reddit, twitter and left wing journalist writings.
Only since Elon Musk took over Twitter has some balance come back, but even now it's left leaning.
The reason for this is Twitter was previously heavily left wing, and banned anyone they didn't like completely due to hiring a bunch of fat karens. Reddit is also left wing and the rate down turnips make sure of that, only people who have a cantankerous personality continue to post there if they don't agree with group think.
When Discord makes all of its data available for AI training I think things will change a lot, since it does not have the same ideological censorship as the other places.

What post was qualified as "salty" according to AI? Or was it your opinion that those posts are salty? And what post has lead to me "step away for a while to calm down (lol?)"? I was genuinely curious lol.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
