Yeah, when I saw the price I was like no way this game is asking for this price.

IMO $20 would be a very favorable price, $30 should be acceptable. Post $40 it gets increasing harder to sell.

If they can polish the combat further to something at least 90% close to AAA action games, make it boss rush type of game, cut the story and cutscenes(that is the part that got criticized the most) and sell for $20 it would have get tons of positive review imo.

... I spend more on a single unit in a gacha than you're willing to pay for a whole game. Like 400$ for a unit.

...

Different market so that's irrelevant. Single player games aren't competing with gacha, they are competing with same genre games from the past 30 years with with deep discount.

No one will go "I am spending $400 on this single player game game because that's how much I spend on gacha". They are more likely be like "I'm not gonna spend $60 on a lower budget DMC clone because I can get DMC5 for $10."

Some time ago I watched a short course of video editing.

Youtuber with enough experience will always feels like flawlessly speaking.

That is the magic of subtle editing: a short video will have multiple cuts that remover breathing, gestures, reduce length, etc.

Its impressive because of youtuber I watched had this thing of constantly blinking. But it just became apparent in his live videos, because obviously those cant have edits. But the video was smoothly, with barely any blink from him.

I say that because Im watching a course right now, and the person teaching takes deep breaths every new paragraph. Nothing wrong here, but once you get used to videos having a fluent and dynamic conversation, hearing the speaker with deep breathes feels like she has some health problem.

I have never payed $400 for a drug.

Then again longest drug experience I have had was three days. Gachas last far longer.

I think what matters is how often you spend tbh....

Spending $400 per year on gacha is only $33 a month for gaming. Honestly I spent far more than that per month on single player games in 2024, because I bought many games and finish them in a week or days so they add up.

Spending $400 every week on gacha is another story though....

What would you guys do if "heavy drugs" was a literal thing, like a 5 pound Percocet or Xanax?

I see no reason you wouldn't.

Provided it stays eternally fresh and never molds/spoils etc

Free food for life, what's the downside.
(the chemicals that keep it fresh give you cancer?, yeah, all american food gives you cancer, try again)

Yeah why not....
First of all I'll cut it in half and negotiate a deal with science research facility to research for possible ways to replicate this.

Then I'll build a factory in a poor region and use this endless regenerating chimichanga as payment for my cheap labour.

Then I'll make shoes and cloths using my cheap labour then sell it to richer countries and make money.

Then I'll use my money to hire all kinds of best chief in the world and make different kind of food for me so I don't have to eat the same thing every day.

Another way to utilize it is to donate it to poor regions so I can paint myself as a saint on media and win the next election.

I am pretty sure AI has better ways to utilize this though, because I am a worse AI than AI.

I'll just sell/donate it to other people instead eating them myself.

Even if it's give people cancer it's inefficient to eat it with only one mouth if it can always regenerate. Technically this chimichanga will become more productive if it's being eaten by tons of people 24/7 lol.

What if you use it an an ingredient in another dish does its regenerative properties transfer to the whole of the new dish? Then you can change it up

Per intent of the question, I assume it's just a chimichanga that can't be disassembled, shared, etc.. just eaten by you. In that case, I'd probably end up throwing it out to remove the temptation after a few drunken 3000 calorie mistakes.

I don't believe the premise was you had to exclusively eat it, just that you had it.

Sooner than later, likely not soon enough though. We do have candy 3D printers, we're almost there.

Extruders use chicken mush to make nuggies... That's more or less what it is...

What you wanted to ask is matter converters, or matter replicators, not 3D printers.

We have 3D food printing right now. It isn't that good yet. Indeed it is quite limited, expensive, and so far strictly experimental.

If it can not be shared, then the value of this chimichanga greatly diminished tbh.....

For people that's starving for their whole life, going from no food to be able to eat tons of chimichanga is a huge change and it generates tons of happiness.

For middle class in first world country that has food on the table every meal, it's nothing but a substitute of some meals when they feel like it. This chimichanga now generates way less happiness and fairly irrelevant in life now.

My brain now feels sense of sadness that this magical chimichanga now has way less value with one simple rule change. Boo!

It can't do ***for humanity if it can't be shared within people!

How many chimichanga can you eat per day? 1-2? That chimichanga only produce 1-2 of itself as food if that's how much you can consume.

If it can be shared and eaten by different people 24/7 then it can produce 48 of itself per day, assuming people spent 30 min eating each. So the value of this chimichanga increased greatly if you can share it.

The rule of no sharing is bad for humanity!

It's not THAT valuable if it can't be shared tbh. Free 1-3 chimichanga per day (since that how much you can eat at most), assuming each cost $5 that's like $15 free money per day.

You have to be pretty poor start a war for $15 free money per day lol.

If it can be shared and capable of producing 48 of itself per day by sharing between people then I can see small tribes fight for it in poor regions though. Since now it can generate roughly $240 per day that's decent amount for a poor tribe.

Edit: I googled and it seems that frozen chimichanga cost something like $2 each, so not even $5. Yeah free $6 bucks everyday isn't worth fighting a war for, and I don't even want to eat that many.

Also that decreased it's daily value generated to around $100 if it can be shared. It's probably still an decent value in very poor regions and worth fighting for.

There's 3D printers of the "mash it up and squirt it out" type then there's hypothetical atomic level 3D printers that spit out atoms and arrange them exactly as you want them.

Ideally closer to the latter.
