He made a point he considered the cast probably too expensive, what is a valid opinion regardless of movie, but you replied like "oh, but is the moviefor you?"
I find the comments about the cast weird as hell that's all. I thought people's "normal" reaction would be:
"Is Ridley Scott on it?" Or "Ohhh Michael Green wrote it" because those are the director and writer who worked on previous ones.
I thought the "right" reaction would be digging writer and producers past work then comment on it. Because THEY will be the one who decide if 2099 will successfully explore the core theme of this IP, which is all that matters. Why does the actors and money even matter?
Is comment on actors and money a "valid" opinion? Sure. But it is a "valid" opinion from very different group of people who cares about different things in my eyes. Call me elitist gate keeper if you want. Blade runner IP has a very special place in my heart. And the 2 movies were both commercial failures precisely because of how niche and unique it is. I don't want a bunch of outsiders or tourists turn this IP into mainstream.
(My tolerance on tourists ruining art also gets much weaker recently after Wuchang story theme change incident.)
So yup, needs to confirm what group did Nynja belongs before I consider his opinion valid. I am an evil elitist gate keeper, sorry!
