Wait, you can kill Big Head with dodges? I thought it had to be parries?
That's exactly what Drayco said about the CS, in the very first page! Now people are gonna think I singled Visions of Mana out because of that.
I never played Hogwarts either, cause idc about Harry Potter. Supposedly its a good game tough. Maybe I should give it a shot after.

Quote: Hello,
Thank you for pre-ordering Pokemon Scale World Johto Region Whitney & Miltank Figure Set (Standard Grade) from BigBadToyStore!
We are expecting this item to arrive soon and will begin processing pre-orders within several business days. This item is in a shipment that is subject to a tariff, and unfortunately, we need to increase our price. Because your pre-order was placed prior to the tariff announcements that took effect on April 9th, 2025, we will be absorbing most of the tariff increase. Unfortunately, we are not able to absorb the entire tariff increase, so we need to charge a higher price.
Your new pre-order price for this item has changed from $70.98 to $82.49. Please note that this price is lower than the new retail price listed on BigBadToyStore.com
A 40 dollar figure from Japan, made in China, becomes almost 80. These companies really think they are slick and pulling the "so sorry to have to do this"
I bet this continues even after this is all over. They did the same during covid for shipments and even to this day use it as an excuse. From another site I purchase from
Quote: Thank you for your purchase!
We are happy to inform you that your order is ready for shipment. This email is to inform you about the remaining balance and the shipping cost of this product.
The remaining balance of this product is 79 USD and we will attach this amount into the shipping invoice.
We have the following shipping methods that you may choose from:
International Priority Shipping (to United States)
- costs 54.5 USD
- shipping time (10-25 business days)
Please keep in mind that shipping turnaround times are extremely delayed due to the impacts of COVID19. The listed shipping time above is the usual turnaround, but may take longer due to COVID19.
How can there still be "extreme" delays... lol.

I bet this continues even after this is all over. They did the same during covid for shipments and even to this day use it as an excuse. I got the same thing from Nendoroids I preordered from good smile.
Their initial statement was that they were closing preorders completely for the US and were working out figure out what to do about existing orders.
They still haven't shown any changes to my earlier preorders which seems to mean they might just be eating the costs.
Now they reopened pre-orders but they include about +$60 "Estimated Tariff Fee" this fee could increase or decrease before shipmen, but like super surprisingly they say at the end of the last bullet point "Customers will have the option to cancel their order within 7 days after receiving the order total" so when you get the final price you can just cancel it which could be a really bad for good smile since they would be left holding the product.
some will take advantage some will take on potentially too much risk, but this is the really reality of the situation with so much in flux, my company is working to mitigate a nebulous revenue risk that could be as large as 80 million.

He was Hume, but I changed him to Galka because of a Galkan LSmate who's like the spinal column of the Packets LS. Worth it to make him grin, I say, I say!
Kinda falling in love with Galka though. The extra HP has saved me over two dozen times already. Plus I can look like a Temu Zeid, and one handed Torcleaver is very cool.
And one handed Tachi: Gekko.
And one handed Steel Cyclone.
And one handed Fell Cleave.
Galkas do a lot of 2 hander animations with a single hand. It's cool!
Though I am slightly bugged that the swing motion for Scourge/Fimbulvetr happens at a slant, when on Hume it was a straight vertical slash, in line with the animation. For Galkas though, a slanted slice is a vertical line.

because Nynja was like "thank God we're not pandering to freaks anymore" that they're not "normal" or somehow lesser for wanting to see themselves represented in modern gamea you people are the most butter-soft babies imaginable I have yet to see a usage of "woke" in the wild that doesn't boil down to "I don't think other people are people" ...
the last word is the definition of this job when it comes to moderation; Anyway, enough of this in RT. I'm gonna have to push back again and say that you're using your position to push your political views and misrepresenting what Nynja actually said. If you want to say the topic is not appropriate, why is it appropriate for you to affirm that your view on it is 'the correct view' in the same post?
His comment was in regards to the behavior of companies, not individuals. If a 'return to normalcy' is a gaming company advertising to men and not displaying a pride banner, then his view of abnormal is a company using those techniques.
I can't speak for anyone else, but my issue with 'woke' culture is that corporate pandering rarely results in high-quality writing or character development. Making half of the cast LGBT and talking about in a game that isn't at all sexual isn't offensive because LGBT people exist, it's because the entire dialogue only exists to make sure we know they're included. It isn't relevant to the game and it breaks immersion.
If you want a good example of inclusive modern writing that doesn't sacrifice story, have a read through The Stormlight Archive, particularly the last couple books. That isn't what game companies have been putting out.
I'm not going to pretend everyone against it sees things the same way I do or that hate doesn't exist. But, I didn't see any hate in that thread.
As far as hosing that thread goes, it was what? The 5th or so in a long(ok not that long) line of, "We're gonna have P&R without calling it P&R." Because a lot of y'all can't help yourselves, and I got tired of issuing temp topic bans in RT when you didn't have a vent space.
I'm sure it won't be the last thread like that.
But I could have locked it at anytime, and most other mods would have.
I'm not so bothered by P&R type discussions, but they are technically against site rules explicitly. In this lens, Rooks or any other mod had every right to lock that thread at any time. Basically after like... page 3. Maybe page 5, if we wanna get technical about economics not technically be politics or religion, but heyyy don't tell the economists that.
So that thread had the grace of staying up for about 100 more pages than it should have.
And, again, it won't even be the actual final word, because someone is going to inevitably start a thread that is adjacent to the topics discussed within it, and such a thread will inevitably travel down similar roads (assuming Anna Banana or Dameshi(miss u) don't come back and start moderating regularly).
Rooks coming into lock it is more of a sign that the thread itself was bothering enough people that they PMed him or other mods who contacted him to correct for my slack.
It's less thought policing and more, "Hey we let you be rowdy since last September. Maybe you could not?"

My issue isn't with the thread being locked, it's with him stating his views as if they are absolute fact then locking the thread. Similar to how he made a bunch of misrepresentations and soft insults in this thread and said 'enough of this', implying we weren't allowed a rebuttal.
If the topic isn't permitted and needs to be closed/changed, it's just a personal indulgence to throw in his own views immediately before closing it.
By Pantafernando 2025-06-03 13:03:40
I think most often than not, that thread was violent, but not so much P&R.
It was more like a culture war than something explicitly political.
I actually think it at least served as a pigpen to those nerds to kill themselves while we watch it.
So can understand people being offended reporting the thread though. There were so many pages that we can barely see any coherent thread of relevant discussions. Many times I see a single page containing 3 to 4 different topics being discussed in parallel, such was the mess in that thread.
So yeah, I think that thread had a reason of burning those filthy hormones those nerds were holding.

No one's not allowed to express their opinions (except for flagrant repeat rule violating offenders). Hell, you can see me in that same thread be on the other side of the aisle.
Everyone's OK to say what they're thinking. That's the point of a forum.
It's just not supposed to devolve into political or religious discussion as those always come with spice. Lots of reports, lots of PM appeals, and lots of, "Why won't you do something about this bigot?" or "Why are you letting this be said?!?!"
But, again, we're humans. People wanna talk about what they wanna talk about, and they wanna say what they feel. This is why sometimes it just has to be allowed, at least for a little while.
You don't have to agree with what Rooks thinks, but nothing precludes him from also speaking his mind when so many others already did.

Issue isn't expressing opinions, it's that he expressed his opinion then removed the ability for anyone to contradict him by locking the thread. In this thread, he once again expressed his opinion then implied discussion had to stop.
I don't think there's anything wrong with mods being active and engaged; it's a good thing. I think there's a bit of abuse of power when someone throws in their opinion alongside the use of their authority to prevent further discussion.

Was there really people in New Games Suck sending PMs to mods saying "so and so said this"? I can't imagine wanting to run and tell the boss somebody said something mean.
Maybe this is the American in me. I disagreed with a ton of things said in that forum, but all I had to do was close the tab and be on my way. I just assumed we're all adults and this is a free public forum.
People you disagree with exist, will continue to exist, and will always be replaced by more people you disagree with. Just go read something else if what you're reading upsets you.

I haven't really been keeping up with the thread that was locked, so what I'm saying may be terribly misinformed.
I think it's pretty neat to have a forum where everything from how SE could improve chocobo racing to differing opinions and beliefs regarding P&R. Despite that, this is still ultimately a FFXI forum, not 'the free market place of ideas'. If a mod wants to cite his perspective on a controversial topic as a rationale for locking a thread, I can't really fault him for failing to facilitate the free flow of ideas, when that isn't exactly a FFXI forum mod's job.
It's also cool to see that Thorny (presumably) likes Stormlight Archive, I really enjoy Sanderson's books too.

most of it is just a byproduct of there being very little to talk about regarding FFXI until very recently. most of the game is completely figured out, there isn't enough new gear coming in to spark discussion about sets, nor challenging enough fights to require new strategies. obviously with +4 things will be lively for a bit, and then the Limbus bosses at the end of the year perhaps.
so its natural for a site where there are only a handful of active threads not exclusively about FFXI that the NG thread would follow the path Vyre mentioned. people want to talk about other stuff with people they have something in common with.

It was more like a culture war than something explicitly political. IDK about Brazil but in the USA culture war is a central theme for one of our political parties.
They even invent their own language for it.

Adulthood is a matter of age.
Maturity isnt strictly related to age thus adulthood.
You assumed correctly, I dont think we should have any teenager or lower here, given how old is this game.
But I think only me achieved the higher stage of enlightment. The rest are just stinking nerds.

Adulthood is a matter of age. When I was young I defined an adult as someone who starts a sentence with "when I was your age ..." but by the time they finish it you discover they never were.
By that standard I am happy to say I still amn't an adult.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
