No, nowadays I feel like media is purposelly distorting old stories just for the sake of generational clash, what is not the case of using something from hundred years before.

Draylo, you live in New York city. Your electric company is Con Edison. Emphasis on the "con"* part. As far as I know in the lower 48 Con Edison and Florida power and light are the worst and most expensive large scale power companies.

*At one point Con Edison got NYC to bail it out with a "loan" that far exceed its market capitalization at the time.

yeah con edison... the worst. Every time I call them to figure out how the hell my bill can be that high, they give a mile long list of excuses. I still don't understand it, one month my bill was 780 dollars, I was shocked. I felt like I had to be paying for my neighbors power too.. like how? They did a test downstairs and confirmed it was just mine. I think those large centralized air units are just huge guzzlers of energy, and the one I had was old and they refused to change it. Thankfully moving across the street the rates are much lower with newer units but its still pretty high around 350.
