I said the best star wars content is animated. Which is still true. But Andor has always been an exception to the small screen live action, which has almost universally been bad.

It is dramatically better than all the others, those first three episodes though. ugh.

I think I have to watch rogue one again too. So much back and forth. This year, that year, before this, after that, during this, when was that again. It's a lot.

Its a slow build, and it works for the show. Also, you can't watch Rogue One until Andor concludes next week. For obvious reasons. The entire point of Andor is to provide a direct lead in to Rogue One.

I've seen Rogue One but haven't watched any of Andor. Is it worth it to start now?

Did you like Rogue One? If so, then yes, Andor is absolutely worth watching. It's a slow build by design. But the story it tells is amazing.

Imo andor season 1 is the best star wars series Disney has done. I even went into it with extremely negative disposition because felt like the character couldn’t possibly be developed enough due to the fact that his end was already canonized

Andor is a dichotomy lol. The story they're telling is compelling. All the extra ***around and inbetween the segments of story suck so hard.

Rogue One worked for me because it was a pretty bog-standard war movie that just happened to be in the Star Wars universe, as opposed to a lot of the current SW media, which is About Star Wars in some core way. I think the setting is amazing as a backdrop for telling all kinds of stories, but degrades real fast when the setting itself is important to the story.

Anyhoo, sounds like I should give it a shot, thanks.

What do you guys think is reasonable? 8 for 1? maybe 5 for 1? I mean it's only about a decade old content, basically brand new in FFXI perspective...

Going to call it now:
They'll add some shitty crafting materials to the besieged NPC similar to the wyrm ash from domain invasion, exclusively for stage 5 shield owners.

The plebs have to grind besieged for a week straight to afford one which they'll sell at the AH to the gil sellers so they can make leet endgame equipment with their botted shields. They again sell the gear to leet endgame gil buyer who'll over pay by a absurd amount.

By the time the price is reasonable enough for the average pleb to even consider buying another 3-5 years go by.

Also can't wait to see white gate overrun by bot armies cause besieged isn't already laggy enough as it is.

That's funny, that is also what I think about the Mandalorian, but as a bog-standard western that just happens to be starring a Mandalorian as the main cowboy.

Yes, exactly, and that's why it works. Season Two started getting more "Hey, we're Star Wars!" about itself and the quality dipped as a result

Oh yeah, I meant that as a good thing.

I think the same about Firefly, and it's also why it works.

Firefly was SO MUCH western derived they transported cows just to poke fun at themselves.

I'm so glad we're done but really wish you'd have started rolling those 6's a bit sooner!

Yesterday while (re)watching the lore of Fear and Hunger Termina, I noticed that the mythology of it seemed reasonably palatable. Based in real world deities, it made it kinda relatable while also giving insights that could be even applied to real world (like Hommer and Sulphur is so good touch).

Then the next video was about “FF villains that actually won”.

Then it started to talk about FF15 villan, its background and why it actually won.

But the thing is, its motivation, heavily based in deities from its world, felt so convoluted. Admitelly I never played FF15, but I did FF13, and Nova Crystallis is about the same: they make something so convoluted, complicated and complex to describe Gods that feels so dated to me at this point.

Even more that, despite trying to make up a “believable” world, by adding so many tiers of godlike figures, in the end, the driving force generally are Gods that reflect humans emotions and behaviors, like anger, sadness, revenge, destruction, posession.

Idk, at this point, throwing dozens of Gods seems so pointless. They are complicated just for the sake of being complicated, not because the lore need them to be this way
