I did too and my dad used to say it but nobody says it anymore, I haven't heard anyone say it for like 20 years. We used to say "I'm baking brownies" before guffing too in school but nobody says that anymore either, nobody says guffed either!

Im undertaking a process of interviews to find the best department for me to join.

My hope is to join a team more focused in the technical aspect of CS.

But there is a lot of options, lets see.

Personally Im really bad at interviews. Everytime I think about it, I already feel bothered and think "screw it, just whatever is fine"

I will leave it todestiny where to work.

Otherwise, I will just find a new job

It's sad what Spicyryan did to himself, as much as we both learned to not like each other I still feel bad for him.

He enjoyed the game in his own way, and liked making stuff for the wiki. Then he got involved in the private server scene as "staff", and doing so raised his desire to be involved in working on XI at a higher level. From then on, just working on a wiki wasn't tickling his pickle anymore. Then they removed him from the private server scene (which lead to him throwing a tantrum in the only way he could, taking it out on retail players on the wiki), and now he has nothing. He even lost what he originally had, and it's all his own fault.

He should have stayed anti private server (or at best just played it and not got involved as staff), it woulda been better for him and everyone else.

Wanna know why all western politicians are pushing renewable energy so hard, when it's laughably crap compared to nuclear energy? which is limitless energy that's cheap and safe?

Cause they all invested heavily into the renewable industries 10+ years ago, so we are getting it no matter how bad it is.

Lets pretend we solve (energy, housing, food, whatever problem it is, they are all solvable) What will we have to fight about. So many people want so many different problems solved... if they start actually getting solved, those people will band together on issues. Dominoes.

Can you provide any data from Fukushima regarding death rates/long term health effects that aren't a direct result of the Tsunami.

Everything I've seen about Fukushima says 0 fatalities due to the meltdown, and no currently reported long term health issues related to radiation.

Massive government subsidies into sub standard industries, that would never get investment if it wasn't being forced.

Massive purchases of wind / solar etc tech, that isn't fit for purpose and are ugly asf.

You can force all this spending by voting for it, and invest in the companies. They are all voting and loving it and everyone claps as they do it.

Nuclear is literally perfect technology that would make every persons life better, and be insanely cheap we aren't using it, disgusting.

He still plays (on a diff server) and he still checks everywhere related to XI (he is reading this even), so he hasn't moved on. He lost his name and status though, which is the thing he is most annoyed about.

I watched a streamer play xcom2 today. It gave me a mild itch to do a run. Game is good. *** game, but good.

Out of the 7 job offers, one particularly seemed tailor made for my interest.

That offer was to Operational Reasearch department.

They said the job was applying Operational Research in apps to deliver to endusers.

Supposely they want people that can work with java, python or typescript, as well working to eaither back, front end ot full stack, plus another set of technologies.

Also that department is neighbor to the AI department, what would make even easier if i decide to jump into that.

It was such good option for me, now i just need to make me appealing to my future boss. Im competing against another 15 software engineers.

While waiting my interview, im still studying data science to apply for another job in case everything goes wrong and i end in a bad place to work

So the hotel I work at got struck by lightning about a week and a half ago.

It fried the HVAC on the roof, half the electronics in the PMS closet, 31 TVs, and about 8 AC units completely.

We've been without Wi-Fi for guests or lobby for all that time, meaning no game related sites could be visited if the Marriott firewall blocks'em.

Damn near drove me nuts.

All we needed was a new switch box and our networking vendor to program it. We got the box. Gave them the call... Commence getting juggled between customer service reps that all just said, "Wait for the tech. The tech has to do things."

Tech gets here, "Oh, you guys provided your own new switch box and we just gotta program it." And he then put in the call to the company and they programmed it remotely as I had asked them to half a dozen times.
