Find a project to start. tl;dr make work And if you can't make up something work-related, start drafting up a tabletop RPG engine like yours truly xD

Apparently the song used during the landing in the demo was cut and replaced (which made it hard to find). But what struck me to look for it was that it sounds so much like the main battle theme for Treasures of Aht Urhgan that I'd be willing to bet Mizuta salvaged the scrapped song and used it as a foundation for the song we've spent countless hours slaughtering colibri to.

I remember reading that the original track was changed due to similarities with some movie track. Fear of a plagiarism claim I guess?
Thankfully I like the new track just fine.

A thing that really annoys me is when, right before the final fights, or even during it, the heroes starts to lecturing the final boss.
My ideal type of hero would start the clash simple and easy: “talk is cheap. Im here to kill you, you are here to kill me. So, lets gets straight to the business”.
That, would be way more cooler than some arrogant kid/teenage believing he is better than the other.

Because good and evil are both usually a matter of perspective, that scene in a game tends to be one of the only time a hero is given to have moral high ground. The hero is trying to use words, only resorting to violence as a means of self-defense. This is especially true in movies, where there doesn't have to be a climactic fight for gameplay purposes.
Hero confronts villain.
Hero tells villain that "there's another way".
Villain lashes out at hero.
Villain oversteps and finds themselves in a perilous position.
Hero tries one last desperate attempt to save villain.
Villain does not accept that either.
Villain dies to their own hubris.
Hero gets to walk away with a clean conscience.

Think of how much more stabby you could have with zero talkie!
No one cares about the dialogue, wasted months of effort on a story you forget while playing. Use those months for more bosses.

In a sense, lecturing a villain in the end only means, for the high horse hero, that winning will make him/her the correct one.
Only that concept kinda destroy any supposed high morals someone suppose to have: that through force, he/she will push his/her ideals to the world after the battle.
Thats no different than simply subjulgation of the loser. None entitle to be "correct" would agree with that being something "moral".

The last fight in Endwalker is something that SE had been building up to for three expansions so OF COURSE there is dialog right before you have at it.
I wanted a 'Can't we discuss this over coffee or something" line but no such thing exists in the dialog choices.

Has anyone played any tabletop RPGs with good vehicle mechanics? Particularly large-scale vehicles like pirate ships or space ships. The only rulebooks I have access to are D&D, which doesn't have such mechanics, and Shadowrun, which only focuses on small-scale stuff.
I can't seem to find anything else from other people I know, and anything I find online looks virus-infested at best.
I just want to see how other games give stats to their vehicles so I have something to compare mine to.

Jack has a very similar kind of attitude in Stranger of Paradise. It's one of the reasons I love the game. YouTube Video Placeholder YouTube Video Placeholder I really hope we get more games like this, but given SE's pattern of ridiculously high sales expectations for even their budget titles, I'd be surprised if we even get a Complete Edition release at this point. ._.;

You could try Lancer RPG?
It isn't quite 'vehicles' but more mecha based. I know it handles vehicles in a similar fashion to their mecha.
For large scale space ships, look at Scum & Villainy.

Our group's primary DM wanted to run a one-shot using Lancer, but that hasn't happened yet. I'm thankful that you mentioned it, because I actually do have a rulebook for Lancer on my PC already!

Playing Theatrhythm Final Bar Line has really solidified my opinion on some things.
1. Dissidia Arcade/NT was not only disappointing in terms of gameplay and the quality of some character models, but also in terms of music. Some of the arrangements from that game are just outright bad.
2. Record Keeper's soundtrack is full of incredible arrangements, and I love the use of parts from other pieces, like overworld music, to add a twist to some battle pieces. Battle on the Big Bridge FFRK ver 2 is probably my favorite rendition of the piece across the entire franchise (which is saying something, considering just how many there are...).
But on a slightly down note about FBL, did we really need like 10+ different versions of Battle on the Big Bridge, when some songs don't even get 1 full version? The original Dancing Mad is only like 1/3 of the song, if that. Answers is similarly missing chunks from the beginning and end. One-Winged Angel -Rebirth- is only the final phase part, missing the 2 (3?) phases before it, and this issue affects all the FF7R boss music in the game in some form.
Fun game overall though; I'll probably be playing it on and off for years to come. :3
EDIT: Oh, but I hope whoever designed some of these charts steps on a Lego.

um no lol. It only has a handful of posters these days, the majority of them are far left radicals and will shout you down or get you suspended for any contrary opinion. I'll never forget a poster saying "Draylo is always contrary to the group think, hes not worth responding to." You can't make that up.

Well... i kinda rushed to end XB3. Following spoilers for random rants and analysis.
GAME WISE:
Overall a fun ride, but I will admit, in terms of fun, I would place it last out of the three parts. For me, I enjoed the most of XB1, followed by XB2 then XB3.
The game mechanics, imo, kinda changed leaving behind exactly what I loved in XB1, that was the feeling like FFXI I felt there, with large challenges mixed in the usual route, many mobs to farm gears, and a party with well defined fighting role.
XB2 kinda tossed out the gear-grinding part, but instead, used the gacha-gacha system to motivate the grind. Kinda cheap because using gacha is cowardice, but damn... I will take, because gacha is fun addiction if it doesnt involves real money.
XB3 had a kinda less motivating grind. Instead of farming dozen of pieces, we were supposed to farm "side quests" then farming some job points, in a system nowhere new, maybe a rehashed system from FFV/FFT job system. What, imo, is already dated.
STORY WISE:
I actually preped well before XB3 (as stupid as it may sound). Before playing it, I went to re-watch entire Xenogears plus Xenosagas 1,2 and 3, and watched many analysis to fully grasp those games. I had played both XB1 and XB2 prior, only missing XBX, that I will play once there is a Switch version of it.
So, unless I missed something in the story, I feel like XB3 is the weakest out of the entire franchise in terms of progression. Here is why:
The real protagonist in Xeno-franchise is none other than... humanity itself. Xeno-franchise tell the 6 part-story about how humanity get in touch with the supernatural, and how it adapt to it: Part 1 is the begining, where humanity encounter the transcendental relics. Parts 2, 3 and 4 are like the transitory state when humanity is trying to adapt to this new reality, obviously exposing the worst of it: war, greed, conspiration, deaths, experiments, etc. Parts 5 and 6 is like the closure of it. And its kinda seems whats not entirely finished in the Xeno franchise.
One of the theory about Xenogears/Xenosaga/Xenoblade relationship is that they are all re-telling the same 6 part stories, only with different focus:
- Xenogears, while being the most restricted one for many reasons, managed to tell the almost entire story from 1 to 5 due to the Perfect Works. The entire trip since the discover of Zohar finished when the Zohar changed it status (by freeing the Wave Existence/God). Maybe in this interpretation of the story, it would be kinda pointless the part 6, afterall, Zohar was no more, only a few people would know the ocorrence of the facts, so most likely humanity would return from the starting point pre-Zohar, with no evolution at all.
- Xenosaga retold parts 1 to 3, and was the most explicit of the ongoing scheme, afterall, it wasnt dealing with a planetary scope, but a entire galaxy one. Being explicit, it was very interesting seeing how humanity tried to usurp Zohar for any mundane reason, as well the U-DO/God influence to humanity. Resulting in an attempt to humanity to seize Gods power and surpass it, becoming God themselves.
- Xenoblade 1 and 2 retold part 5, or retold Xenogears. After the attempt of seizing Gods power, humanity ends in a devastated state, and try to recover the injuries, by re-populating a new planet. But this time, the events in history were profoundly influenced by Zohar and the will of the original people who tried to seize Gods power. In case of XB1 and XB2, Klaus managed to seize the power and decide to create two worlds with it. Thus, XB1 and XB2 are two interpretation of the same part 5/Xenogears story. Looking now, kinda disappointing having two games to tell the same story. In both cases, God ceases to exist and humanity is supposed to be free from it, and can return to the very same ending point of Xenogears ending, or the pre-Zohar humanity stage. Or no?
- Xenoblade 3 was supposely to be the part 6, after the Zohar/God reign, but I dont quite think so. Because its motivated by the force trying to re-unite XB1 and XB2 worlds, maybe this concept not being explored in the original Xenogears. To respond to the imminent colapse, both worlds try to make a backup to restore the worlds after the collision. And thats why I feel like XB3 is the weakest of all Xeno-franchise in terms of story:
As Xeno-franchise is about humanity evolving, XB3 is a mere attempt to retain a same state after a major occurence (the colapse of the world). The entire game can be interpreted as a "dream-like" adventure, where the humanity's fear of change (Moebius) is confronted by the humanity's desire to change (Ouroboros). Given statistics, in infinity, a small chance becomes garanteed, so at some point, humanity break free from the resistance to change and return back to the evolution. And thats like the beginning and ending of XB3, maybe not more than mere seconds in a game that tells the story of milleniums ahead in the future of humanity.

News on Square-Enix's first wholly NFT game. There's a trailer that doesn't show any gameplay, and an internal chart that explains how it makes them money.

On a side note (heavy spoilers on XB ahead)
Well done, Rex. I think its a first i see in a big seller game when the main protagonist
go to the harem ending route, having kids not just with the main protagonist, but with Nya too.
I guess hes really a nice guy. Wont let down any of his single girl friends

Oh yes, shorting SE as soon as that starts.
Earn "money" "playing" this game and "use" "money" to "buy" in game. Plus advertise and reward your highest "earners"
This will go very well. One step away from getting "paid" to do repetitive actions. Like a "paycheck" for "working". How could that ever go wrong.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
