Wasn't it like a year or so ago that Reddit completely messed with Gamestop's market value as well? It's crazy the kinds of things that can get done when people collaborate.

All it takes is a handful of humans to completely topple the programs and systems that prop up the entire economy.

Truely frightening thought.

It only hasn't happened yet because humans insist on the *** you got mine mentality. Can't stand the idea of other people having any modicum of success or joy without being enraged.

I view it like this- we have systems in place built by elder generations that now are viewed by current generations as nothing more than rules in a video game. So of course the hacking nature of the younger generation is going to look for the soft spots; the gaps in the rules. And to them, its just another game, no real world consequences. Because combined with this hacker mentality, there is so little general education happening in the 'required school years' about economics. That's a pretty frightening combination in my book- people with the ability to effect massive change, without the knowledge of what they are capable of altering with their curiosity.

I tried to pick one that would show off the fX without making them seem garish.

I like their design a little better tbh, the XI one looks more like an average monster imo. I always hated how they made him a regular monster... and the name "Dark Ixion" made me think maybe at some point he would be an avatar, rather him than Siren at least.

XIV ixion is far more reminiscent of the original from X

I never had a strong attachment to Ixion, but I like the horn on the one in XI a lot better than the one on the donkey in FFXIV (like look at XIV Ixion's shape, straight up DONKEY).

Seemed suitably special in XI too, until the Abyssea variants made it a common thing to be able to fight.

You know the WoTG one requiring you to hit it with Stygian Ash while it's standing still and what not.

Funnily enough you have to throw an ash at the XIV one to make it killable as well lol

Yeah, i finished watching the 72h Xenogears longplay, i guess imade the right thing because, despite being an awesome work, i totally couldnt take actually play such incomplete work.

Kinda laughable having second disk with barely any actual play, aside the prep before the final battle.

Aside this, a whole lot of insights that actually makes you think about things.

Well, debating if i follow the same strategy of watching the long play to the 3 Xenosaga, or actually play all or some.

Im not sure i will be able to play in emulator, though.

But till then, time to rejoice watching some Xenogears analysis. There is a lot of hours to cover, im looking forward to see the things i didnt catch or comprehend

Whats happening with the book market?

Amazon selling ebooks for 40$+…. And thats an ebook to read with damn Kindle that im still not used to it…

I guess the culprit is this membership service they have been trying to sell… saying that with the 50$ monthly we can read *everything* there.

Well, while it seems promising, the thing is, i really cant read 1000 pages a month to justify a membership. To me, its way more interesting paying 50$ for a copy i will actually own for lifetime, instead of having one month to read, then losing it all because i couldnt get the information while i could…

And currently ive been prefering to learn via Youtube and Udemy, resorting to books when its something way more formal.

And thats not to say most of those books can be found for free (illegally) in the internet so yeah, not justification to pay 40$ for a book that is by no means new (actually from 2013, yeah…)

They didn't lose anything, stock prices fluctuate all the time because the market is full of stupid people who panic buy/sell. The price will recover over the next week/month, because there was no actual valid reason for it to fall.

To use an example, if YoshiP stated tomorrow he is leaving Square Enix the stock price would be impacted and that would be a valid loss in value that would be difficult to recover. However if YoshiP stated he is leaving the company to go home early today, and a newspaper make a mistake and stated he was leaving the company that would not be a valid loss in value (even though they both would initially have the same impact) and would quickly recover.

All Elon needs to do is add an official tag and change "verification" to be like nitro on discord, a sign you bought the extras package.

Elon is a master manipulator and has an army of simps, people need to keep that in mind. There are lots of valid reasons to pretend things are falling apart for him, for instance if you want to fire people but there are laws stopping you it's a good idea to convince them to quit the company on their own. It's also a good idea to fire half your workers (that you're allowed to fire), then knowing they are going to be worried about getting another job instantly offer to re-hire them at much lower rates (which he is doing).

It is bots. The entire economy is controlled by bots buying and selling. It's not even truely panic selling anymore, bots don't panic. That's why it's possible to game the system like it is. One *** can trigger every algorithm to sell.

The entire economy is one button press away from complete and total collapse. For teh lulz.

A very interesting part in Xenogears is about the Myang entity, which role is to simply judge current humanity to see if its fit to her plans.

And if her judgment leads to a non-fit condition, then she starts the purge.

Before the game starts, she dealt like 4 purges in humanity, based on nuclear bombing, wars, etc.

That doesnt that much far fetched with our world, where technology quickly outshine values like virtues and spiritualism, manipulations provoke constant conflict between people, and the armory makes every single mistake as potentially dangerous.

So much overwork ive been having lately have been making me too pessimist regarding our world: have we actually evolve with current technology? They say internet and computing makes life “easier”, but then, ive been working from monday to monday, from 3am to 8pm. How am i any different from a slave? Whats the point in rushing the civilization “progress” just to become another version of same imperialism/domination/slavery from past centuries?

Why people dont wake up we are going downhill quicker than most can notice or even react?

Yeah, it's funny, but let's not lose our minds over a 3% stock drop. They're still up ~6% from a month ago and ~30% for the year, and when you look at a graph of the year instead of one that is cherry picked to look as bad as possible then you'll see that it's hardly even a blip in terms of the normal stock variation.
