Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

I've been having a lot of issues with Trusts lately. "Trust issues", if you will.

Recently I vowed to never even try summoning Koru-Moru again. I really want a good support Trust, but he doesn't ever cast magic on me, and I've never seen him cast a Cure spell once. I end up summoning King of Hearts because he's great at keeping me maintained with Refresh II, Haste II, and Phalanx II, plus he opens every fight with Dia III which helps melt enemies. But unfortunately he's programmed to be really good only to the player who summons him.

I fought that stupid Yggdreant trying (yet again) to learn Uproot. Knowing my biggest issue with it is the Doom, I summoned three different White Mage trusts: Kupipi, Apururu, and Ferreous Coffin (whom supposedly has an extra-potent Cursna), in addition to King and (I think) Cornelia. Thankfully I was only afflicted with Doom one time, but it took a hot minute to get rid of, even though all of my Trusts had surplus MP. When I looked at my chat log later, I noticed not a single one of them ever cast Cursna... except King. King spammed it like my life depended on it, and eventually removed it after 4 attempts, when my counter was at 2.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force demo on ps5 and xbox, kind of fun so far. World graphics are really nice, combat is fun.

I think I'm liking it more because it's giving me PSO vibes than for what it is itself.

I dug into some boxes and found an old giant bulky Compaq keyboard from the days when my computer only had a single CD-ROM drive that couldn't even burn a disk. Monitors were not flat panel and weighed a ton as well back then. This keyboard's keys are so THICC. I think they made these this way for people converting over from typewriters to be able to easily adapt to.

Of course, my power went out for 6 hours yesterday from 5 PM until 11:40 PM since I had a useful keyboard again. That was the big suck so I can only now join the chat. My two laptops were both dead. My PSP was long dead as it was buried in a drawer. My useful phone was at 3% power when power went out because I had been charging my useless phone. That is my phone for only calls and text was at 100%, but that only let me call my grandma and mom because they get a kick out of it when I do. At least it wasn't 100 degrees out, but still too hot for late October. I did get a lot of cleaning done around the house until it got dark. Then it was just me and my single candle. Ka-thwack, as AMAN trove says.

Now I will leave this here and go back to breakfast making and not burning the house down because I was typing too much with my beloved spacebar.

I was popping those as well. lol I don't think I've ever successfully removed Doom with those before.

new mmo like FFXI released is clunky but apparently decent ember something or something?

If Asmongold hates it, it must be good. Even though it did look clunky as hell, I dislike that guy so much that it makes me want to try it.

Yumcax sucks, what I used to do back in the day when I needed it to learn the spell was /yell in town a few times then head there and hope people turned up.

Its doom is really hard to get off, holy waters or cursna both have a low success rate. I have a good cursna build on my whm and it's still about 30% success rate maybe.

That's one good thing about Asura, one yell and about 10 people turn up to kill something like that. Bahamut is ok too for it.

I know some of the Trusts have weird scripts related to what job the player is on, as well as specific interactions with other trusts based on who the Trust is/what job they are.

Like I'm in Apururu Unity because back in 2017 or 2019 or whenever it was that I reactivated Vyre to finish Seekers of Adoulin and Rhapsodies stories, I read she was the best WHM for healing. She will Haste, Cure V, Cure IV, Curaga III, and Erase all very promptly. She also uses -na spells fairly often. Then restores like 2~300 MP with her one WS every so often. However, she doesn't seem to haste tank trusts, nor mage trusts, nor support trusts. I have never seen her Haste Qultada or Valaineral. I have seen her Haste Zeid and Ayame.

I still don't understand why Ullegore just sat there meleeing and WSing but letting his 2900MP pool just sit. On my one true win against Byakko, it was the fact that he was laying into him heartily with Thunder IV/III and Stun that let me win. Was counting on that again, and review of the log, he casted Stun twice and that was it. No other magic for the entire encounter.

Psycho fans of press-formed pork slurry be buying 2nd freezers to stock up! (til they release it again next year because yeah- nothing better to spike sales than to threaten a seasonal special isn't returning....)

I would pay good money for a 4X or RTS game centered around Vana'diel in 862-864 CE. If someone ironed out all of the kinks, I would probably play a game that was entirely just FFXI's Campaign.

At least they are more honest in their jp onry stuff….

Jessie spoke of what a FFXI RTS game could be like and it made me remember some old games I used to play still exist. Yar har feedle dee dee and all of that at the moment.

I also just found this desktop background randomly on Archive.org. With those games and with me setting my desktop wallpaper to this and it's like I am building a time machine here.

Imagine it: You play through the campaigns of each of the three nations and unlock a surprise fourth campaign where they've all finally banded together properly in a final push into the Northlands. You get to command units from all three nations at once in the fight against the Shadow Lord.

You could have eight different factions in skirmish mode if you include the combined Allied Forces and combined Beastmen Confederate. Balance them properly, and include units from Jeuno and the Kindred, respectively.

Dammit I wish I didn't already have so many things going on so I could learn to program something like this x_x
