Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

It's terrifying. I feel really bad for those people getting locked into their offices and homes from the outside...

That's an issue I thankfully haven't run into yet. I'm not yet building a universe around the game, still building the game itself. Previous attempts over the last 14'ish years of designing it had me trying to concurrently make the universe and game. That was a big mistake.

When I had people coming up with characters for my test games, I've had them tell me what races they want to play from any kind of fiction and then made up stats on the spot. The setting in the last game was basically just Iron Age technology in "Not Europe". Though I did add a pretty neat twist at the end that the party witnessed the unleashing of magic into the world, as a lead-in for this next update which will now include magic.

Whenever I inevitably come up with a world, I'll probably turn the plots of these games into major historical moments.

Magic is one thing that I think makes me cringe when it's spelled even a little bit differently. I'd probably score Final Fantasy XII an entire point lower than it deserves because they spelled it "Magick". I know that's how it was originally spelled or something, but it just irks me.

Probably the same thing happens to you guys whenever I add the letter U to the word "favourite" or "colour" XD

Thats me, but not with “magick” but when i hear “mana points”.

I always think “man, this is FF, not Legend of Mana”.

Those games normally try to use some ancient english to try to pass the idea of medieval game like FF12 itself.

Its silly imo because first, there isnt really a poibt thinking ivalice would speak english to begin, then to think they would even speak ancient english, i get the point but it doesnt make actual sense.

I like the name "Mana" because it could have some foundational magical meaning. But I do think it's funky to use it in lieu of "MP".

My magic system has a different take on a resource and costs, though I've still taken to calling something "MP" just because it makes sense to do so. Though it leads me to a different problem of having Magic Points but I don't use the term Hit Points.

I kinda wish D&D would just use an MP system or something. "Spell Slots" as a term doesn't even make sense, and it requires the tracking of way too many resources at once.

I wish ours was what they predicted in the first place. Instead of one giant dump, we've been getting like 4 inches every day for a week, and it's expected to continue like this for at least another week.

Magikah points.

Today gonna start a new game, trying some less known ones.

I was thinking to try Live a Live for SNES, but considering it will be released to Switch in july, i guess i can skip that.

If im disciplined enough, gonna try recording the gameplay then try to compile it in 15 minutes to share.

Not like i beat game fast. Super Mario RPG took me like 2 weeks to complete, and its a game relatively short. Xenoblade took me like unbelievable 3~4 months. Zeldas have been taking around one week per game.

Trials of cold steel looked neat as hell, neat enough that I actually wrote the name down in the "***I want to play someday but I know I never actually will" file

And of course grandia is awesome (every grandia game was a blast)

Really for some reason I hate games that do this nowdays, I just can't get into it. The new Triangle strategy game did this and its such a bore listening to the VA... really takes me out of the game! I dont know if its because its been overdone or just really weird now.


I try to stay away from the news recently, nothing but shootings and slashing and ppl being pushed into the trains. Just depressing so I took a break, but that also sounds awful.


I hope its fun, we need more Digimon World, I stumbled across this guys channel and its amazing how people break down games and show you things you never knew, this was one of my fav games.

Yesterday me and mom went to supermarket to buy some food for our family easter lunch.

Well, she went to buy meat for kids as they dont eat fish (neither do I), then I told her: "just buy the entire rump steak piece, and the leftover we bring home for week meals".

So Im kinda in heaven with 800g of rump steak to eat this week. Hopefully I can eat that tasty meat again tomorrow, if any is left.

Order my birthday presents late?
