Most people are dumb everywhere, I'm not sure why we're making this a tribal thing.
And Ivermectin for humans and Ivermectin for animals are two different medications. I'm not a doctor so I'm not going to give my two cents on whether it's smart or stupid to try and treat Covid with Ivermectin (I personally wouldn't do it), but conflating it with the horse dewormer is a product of intentional misinformation.

it's the same drug, but in different delivery vehicles and vastly different doses. it's legit like 300x the dosage for a horse vs a human. people were taking the animal doses and getting sick. it IS a antiparasitic (remove them worms) medicine that was developed specifically to kill the parasitic worm onchocerca volvulus which causes river blindness. that is why the people who developed it got the nobel prize. it is not misinformation to call it a dewormer. that was it's primary reason for creation. the only non worm uses are to treat head lice and some skin diseases.
you are right that they are two different things, but there were 100% people shitting themselves because they would go to places like tractor supply store and buy/take large doses intended for horses. that is not misinformation, it happened. that's not to say that there weren't people who got the human doses from a doctor, but no peer reviewed study i've seen shows it having any effect on covid.

crazy lucky that 16 people were shot and no one died. honestly amazing. dude dropped a smoke grenade and just opened fire, then dipped out when the train hit the station. i hope he doesn't go for a repeat. the slipping away thing reminds me of the sniper guy and his kid if you remember that. usually people that do these big shootings like this tend to stick it out and die shooting out with police.

You're correct in that there were people buying and taking the wrong product, but it was stupidity magnified by misinformation. When group A says "Ivermectin can treat Covid" and group B says "Ivermectin is horse dewormer", you increase the number of people who think that the horse dewormer is the kind of medicine that group A is telling you to take.
So the real stupidity is in putting chemicals of questionable origin into your body without guidance from a doctor, but that is certainly not a problem that is unique to the U.S.

Well, im not sure how its in your country but I suppose the accidents and death by car/buses should be abysmally higher than every other transportation means.
Particularly in my country due to economy where Uber and other apps drivers are being forced to overwork, resulting in poor condition while driving. The other day a famous died because the Uber driver just fall asleep while driving.
Those kinda of news are shocking exactly because of how rare its, how rare is to have a subway accident, an airplane accident.
There is simply no safety in world. Everytime you breath you have some sort of risk. You live and die by sheer chance or God or what you feel more confortable believing. It is actually safer believing you are never safe. For example, the other day while walking in empty street a beggar was checking the trash when I was close, and he took down a heavy wardrobe less than a minute after I passed there. That is, for a measly minute I wasnt crushed by a furniture just because someone else was careless doing his stuff. In that same day I stepped twice in a broken glass throwed in the street, obviously I was with my sandals but that is, in the same simple walking I was subject to three different accidents.
Really there is no safety anywhere.

IMO, probably a lot of effort was spent just to disbelieve something instead of providing a solution for that.
The idea behind it was quite simple: better something than nothing, at least till something better come up, but instead of looking for a solution, they just made a medicine a reason for debate.
I mean, that should be lowest of human stupidity in history: why people need to take side about using or not a medicine? None is forced to use it, its used at ones own risk, but that the globalism agenda: promoting conflicts over EVERY SINGLE ***so they can enforce their tactics: divide to conquer.
Sad.

Also, death by vehicles can easily become very gore. Not to say, it should be a very painful moment if you dont die instantly.
From time to time I receive some vides/images of that kind of accident, dang, most of them can easily shame even the scariest terror movie you see with the best special effects.
Im OK with death. But if I can choose something, at least a not too gory one, and also a not that painful too. Death by disease in comparison at least gives you a short/large moment to wrap things up before departing, gives you the opportunity to forgive and give farewells, what is something that if you have the chance to do it, you should be grateful.

A solution was already available. Something better had come along months prior, an actual covid vaccine that was completely safe and effective.

Moon Knight is completely unremarkable so far. I'm just zipping through the episodes at this point.

I've tapped out trying to follow all of that Marvel stuff. Up until Endgame, I kept up with every movie. But now that there's all these shows and stuff too that seemingly all tie together it's started to feel like work to me. Not to say it's bad, or even that I don't personally like them. It's just overwhelming to me lol
I'll still watch stuff that really catches my attention, and am still dedicated to Dr. Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy at least. I'm just not going to oblige myself into keeping up with the entire MCU.

You could miss all of the shows and still be relatively up to date on everything. Maybe peek in on Falcon and Winter Soldier, it being good helps. Loki could be relevant as well. But the rest of them are skippable. Moon Knight seems to hold no relevance whatsoever.

Loki is probably the most relevant, maybe Wandavision too. May be biased because Wandavision was *** cool after the slow start.

Those are two I might check out one day. I like Wanda, Vision, and Loki. I just don't watch a lot of episodic series.
Especially right now where I've given myself until the middle of May to get my next test game ready. Only 4 weeks to finish developing my system for magic, balance stuff, draw new character sheet templates, write the one-shot game, work with the players to fill out their character sheets, come up with stat blocks for enemies, come up with puzzles and other stuff, plus all the other prep work that I like to do.
I set that timeline just in case May 16th actually does come up with something interesting, and because I work better under pressure lol
Magic is working out really well, though. I cried tears of joy yesterday when my preliminary balance tests were successful on my first completed block of spells. I distilled the entire concept of traditionally elemental (fire, cold, electricity, etc.) spells into just 5 mechanical rules.

Just do what everyone else does who didn't watch them as they came out: binge them.

Not the case here, the Uber is like 10~20 dollars more than a train roundtrip and its 100x safer. You aren't packed into a car like a sardine with homeless people screaming and being nuts or peeing/shitting on the train. I can't imagine taking the train now. This isn't rare, every single day there's a new story of a slashing on the train, someone pushed in or something bizarre happening. The defund the police movement did wonders here along with homeless and crazies.
It's all about risk assessment, you can't be 100% safe anywhere but you can reduce the risk of course.

My 3rd grader came home and told us that his class was assigned to write persuasive writing papers. They were shown a map and told to choose a country and write on why it would be a good idea to vacation there.
My son, who is largely unaware of geopolitical matters, chose Russia. /facepalm
Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose. I'm sure a lot of kids would've chosen it because it's the biggest lol
Politics aside, I would like to visit Russia one day just to see it with my own eyes. If I had the wealth, I'd want to try living in (mostly) every country for even a little while. Like 1-6 months, depending how much I like it.

Yeah, that sounds nice. I wouldn't want to live in that many places simply because moving a lot can suck, but there are many places that I would like to visit if it weren't for the dangerous conditions and/or tourists (in tandem with opportunistic locals) ruining the experience.

I would like to visit (and live for a while) in Germany, followed by England.
Actually thats my plan 3~5 years from now. Im seriously working on it, saving money, concluding my university before trying some post graduation in those countries.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
