Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

Loving is good and all but love doesnt last forever. Actually biologically its supposed to last just till the descendants have enough age to survive. In human species though, after that time expires, love is replaced by a sense of family.

The thing, though, is when ones goes way over that expiration time with unrequited love, closing him/herself to new people. Then its not like love but obsession.

What generally tend to be harmful to the one on the unrequited side

Thats to say, yeah, i hate love triangles where the “goal” side is forever struck with the other who didnt even care with him/her, while the protagonist does so much effort just to get nowhere.

Well, i guess thats life. Whats the odds of a perfect match of interest between two people in 7bi that exists in earth?

he just rage quit elden ring because it doesn't hold your hand and have quest markers and big glowing arrows showing you where to go every 30 seconds and XI is like the pinnacle of "needs an exterior source to complete anything"

Oh yeah. If Asmongold is primarily a WoW player, I wouldn't recommend XI to him. It already sounds like he'd go into it with a closed mind. He'd judge it based on WoW's merits and not give it a fair chance. The exact same reason I've never tried getting the Thumpers to try it.

But it makes my blood boil every time I see someone dismiss it without ever trying it. Say "Naw, that doesn't look like it's my thing", not "Why can't you (Ninja) play Final Fantasy XIV like a normal person? Please. Just f*cking try it. Please. Just try it out. It'll be fine! There's a free trial that goes all the way to Heavensward, okay?! I dunno if I'd ever play Final Fantasy XI. It's pretty old, dude."

The sheer audacity to say "just try it (XIV) out" while in the same breath saying "I dunno if I'd ever try" XI. And in this elitist tone like he knows what he's talking about.

You know what? Final Fantasy XI's "first boss" isn't PlayOnline or the installation process. The biggest hurdle to get into FFXI is all of the people like this who say with authority to never try it. "Naw, don't play XI. Come play XIV". Like screw off. Let people make their own decision. You can't say XI's population is small and then kill off the influx of players. I'm so sick of this.

I mean... i really regret buying elden ring, easily worst game ive tried in a long time. Its fine not hand holding and showing you where to go, but the combat to me isnt fun. The visuals for equipment like wpns and armor look lame, Idk def not for everyone and most certainly not deserving of perfect reviews.

Lol they take it as some kind of pride that they refuse to play XI. I showed a vid in another thread, this xiv streamer was like I bought every single FF game to play them all now. Except 11, I didnt buy 11 but i bought every other one.

Looking at this year's gaming calendar, I think Elden Ring cruises to GOTY wins. The only thing that could challenge it would be BOTW 2, if it comes out. It's easily better than every game that came out last year.

This is I believe the 6th or 7th game of the franchise, it's a known commodity by now. Dark Souls came out the same year as Skyrim, so there was plenty for you to research before buying it. All of their games play the same.

That's pretty common as well. I know a lot of people who think the Final Fantasy franchise just went straight from X to XII, not unlike how Microsoft Windows OS skipped the 9th entry. Or perhaps they're just really bad at Roman numerals.

Regardless, that's kind of why I wish they'd push it even a tiny, tiny amount. I don't expect a Super Bowl ad, but a little nod here and there would be nice. A simple retweet whenever a big update drops or something.

It's in response to my saltiness about the guy butting on FFXI without ever having played it. Proth had explained how AMG needs his hand held or else he rage-quits, and therefore probably wouldn't like XI anyway.

On the topic of games that hold your hand, I prefer games that are between FFXI (where trying to do everything without a guide would be an absolute nightmare) and FFXIV (get quest, use map, do thing, all spelled out). Too many games that try to buck the trend of being stupidly linear end up pushing cryptic garbage that require a community to decipher, but I'll occasionally overlook both if the gameplay is good enough.

I've replied to you a total of what, twice in a month? Negative. I just don't understand why anyone gives a ***about what "streamers" do. Personally I think the world would be better off if it were banned.

I agree that balance is key. Though as a person who identifies as an Explorer in the Bartle Taxonomy, I err towards the FFXI end of things when I can't find said happy medium. I would much, much prefer bashing my head into a wall 50 times if it meant every time was a step closer to a goal than to essentially watch a long movie with a controller in my hand.

The thing i like about Elden Ring is, it gives you something to do around every corner while still giving you a direction to run in to continue the "main story" (which, for a FromSoft game, basically just means the highest concentration of NPCs and world/world level altering events). It's kind of like BotW except the things you can do in Elden Ring are far more varied, interesting, and rewarding. I don't know if I prefer it over the standard Souls layout of a hub with numerous layered, branching areas around it but I don't dislike it at all. 100% agree with the 9/10 and 10/10 ratings.
