A while back, one of my old coworkers introduced me to her friend and she and I ended up dating for a few years. I'd trust a coworker over a family member though due to the history of bad guys your sister has been into. If he is decent looking and has his own place he lives alone at, I say gopher it. If anything, make him your side-ho.

I didn't even realize it, but C&C Renegade shares a release year with FFXI. Today marks 20 years since the release date of the only 3D PvP shooter game I've ever given a crap about. It still has a pretty sizeable community just because the game was so loose with its design that people are still coming up with new strategies.

Love me some C&C, but after Tiberian Sun let down, I gave up. Never played Renegade. Couldn't get into Red Alert 3 even, which is crazy since I love Red Alert 2, but you knew that from pages back.

Renegade is such a cool premise. It's like your typical military shooter, but both teams have a base. Each building within the base provides bonuses for the team. As you score kills or protect your team's automated Harvester on its trips, you get money. You can change your loadout to resemble an infantry unit from Tiberian Dawn, you can buy tanks, aircraft, and other vehicles from Tiberian Dawn, or you can buy stuff like superweapon beacons to command like an Ion Cannon strike wherever you place it.

Just like Tib Dawn, both factions are super different. The UNGDI have heavier weapons and armor, while the Brotherhood of Nod employ stealth and speed. Also just like C&C games, it utilizes a hard balance system, so certain weapons are more effective on certain targets. Whenever you recognize your foe using a certain strategy, you can change up your own to get the upper hand. So even though there's no inherent rule or mechanic for it, espionage is extremely important as well. It plays exactly like Command & Conquer, but as a shooter. I love it <3

There's something about the sixth console generation era of games that employed a lot of flexible game mechanics to encourage a lot of creative solutions to "solving the game".

It was at the point where they'd figured out how to make the games functional in 3D, yet before they settled on what made money and started copying each other or appealing to wide audiences.
