Sorry. It was rude of me to disparage what someone else thinks is neat/fun/entertaining. I was mostly messing around, but if someone talked trash on FFXI, I'd probably take it a little personal, I guess.

Yeah, I've watched some episodes of the Pokemon cartoon (anime, if you must). There are hundreds of episodes now though and I have only seen stuff from season one. It's total garbage for children and nothing like the games. "Pikachu, DODGE IT" spam and all. "Dodge it" isn't a move in Pokemon, but in the cartoon it certainly is.

At least everyone can agree that a person should never google "Sonic The Hedgehog fanart".

I have never once, but can totally imagine. Actually, ick. I shouldn't even have imagined.

I couldnt stand the Pokemon anime, just completely silly. Like you said all they say during battles is "dodge" just got old lol. That said I didnt like the digimon anime after season 3, but the newest one looks pretty good.

Okay, Freehogs. I won't even bother to meme that one.

I was late teens. Maybe 20, tops, when Pokemon came out. It would have been off my radar completely except that my girlfriend at the time really liked Ponyta... which meant I had to "pick one". That's why I only saw episodes of season one because it was WAY back in the day. Hard to believe these games are... *looks it up* 25 years old and tomorrow is Pokemon Red/Blue's 26th birthday. Released on February 27, 1996.

Guess it's time to start looking at nursing homes for myself.

They both came out around the same time and both have "mon" at the end of their title. And because people be people, that's enough to make them "exactly the same" and therefore rank one over the other.

If you like Pokemon and Dark Souls, no one bats an eye. But if you like Pokemon and Digimon, people lose their minds.

And I'm sure the only reason why Pokemon overtook Digimon in the unnecessarily Highlander-esque "there can be only one" situation stemmed from its accessibility and marketing. The truth is they almost couldn't possibly be more different, and there's no reason they can't coexist.

Yeah, i think justice is one of the most controversial concepts out here.

I just read a story that was about a guy who spent the entire time under pressure because the crimes he committed, thats killing a girl that was a bawd for and a high school prostitute that happened to become an witness.

Then, the prosecutor made pulled out of his *** the actual culprit because plot convenience despite having no proof, and made his work to convince the protagonist to turn himself in (what he did in the end).

Ok, but whats disgusting in this story is how the murderer was supposed to must be arrested at any cost by the prosecutor, ignoring the yakuza promoting high school prostitution, or higher ups that tried to explicit cover the case because themselves had their ways with those high school girls.

Protagonist arrest, and was the justice done in the end? Well, there will be another bawd, another high school prostitute and another old guy having fun with this.

In the end, the prosecutor’s justice wasnt more than some egocentric whim. Not just egocentric but also coward because he did “justice” exactly on the weakest actor in this story (the dropout teenage) instead going for the stronger ones.

I get the concept of crime and redemption that was the authors point. But in the end, it just open wide how the human justice doesnt mean anything.

The single best moment I heard of that happened in the Pokemon cartoon (other than the banned episodes because that sounds funny that they had to do that) went something like this.

There was some "itching powder" put onto Team Rocket for whatever reason. I have no idea the episode. All I know is the Team Rocket motto started something like:

Jessie: To protect the world from all this chafing and itching.
James: It might even stop all of Jessie's... complaining.

Damn, Quickdraw. You found that fast. I guess that's happens when you get fueled by Arbys.



Okay. That's the last of the Pokemon chatter from me for the night. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Thank you for taking my mind off of the horrors and anxiety of the world for just a few minutes... even though that Butch/Cassidy post was bait. I said I wouldn't talk about Pokemon anymore tonight. You have a 6 and half hour reprieve.


I guess a Beyblade isn't a Keyblade. Not that I ever touched a Kingdom Hearts game. I hear it is good. Never tried any of them.

I remember being a kid and watching Shrek for the first time. The intro to DuLoc had me laughing out loud at that age.

I was about a year too old to be in the generation of people who treat that movie like a religion, but I still liked it.

Can we just appreciate for a moment how absurdly good the background music is for the Team Rocket motto? It has a memorable melody, kickass military instruments, and is just epic enough to almost make them seem intimidating.

I didn't even realize the Motto song went on longer.


Guess what movie series I have never seen one of. Yep. I really don't think I missed much.

So I was looking up Kingdom Hearts stuff and came across the most hyper fangirl I have ever seen in my life. Starts at 1:42'ish. Headphone warning FOR REAL. I want someone to look at me half the way she looks at Sora.



(Likely how Freehugs acts when she finds out she is getting Arbys/Pizza).

They're OK. I'd argue their popularity stemmed from the first movie being kinda groundbreaking in terms of what 3D animated movies could do and the kind of jokes they could get away with. Most people seem to prefer the second one, but I remember really hating it.

I don't own a Switch, nor do I give an iota of care for the Kingdom Hearts franchise, but I was really happy to see Sora come to Smash. It was just really heartwarming to see the lengths Sakurai would go to in order to make as many people happy as he could. There were so many easier things the Smash team could have done, but they went above and beyond what anyone was expecting. It was just so wholesome.
