They were mostly a joke anyway lately.
Ironically, I feel like people knew less about what they were doing now than they did at the start of the pandemic. Businesses and governments have been coming up with all these arbitrary rules like "You can stop wearing a mask, but only as you're putting food in your mouth", so a lot of people would buy popcorn or something and leave it on their lap without even eating it so they had an excuse.
Our province has always been just kind of winging it. I lost any faith I had when they stopped testing. Then when they finally said "We're safe, no more restrictions", the press asked if they could see their data and they said "No further questions".
At least before, I could make my own decisions about how careful to be.
