Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

Sadly we don't get much of a swimsuit season here. We go from -40 winters almost immediately into +40 summers. Either way, we can't really go outside xD

At least the cost of living is cheap'ish. Until we get our heating and air conditioning bills...

I pre-ordered it, so i'll give it a go. Still enjoying Horizon but my attention span these days is not good.

What blew my mind here is, no fresh water lakes so almost zero mosquitos or bulldogs or flying insects at all here

The same weather in Manitoba would have like 1000 mosquitos biting me the second I walk outside

I really want to move to Iceland. You get to experience all four seasons like in Manitoba, but much milder on every front. And it's the only country on the planet without mosquitoes.

Thing about Manitoba though is that outside of extreme hot and cold, we're pretty much devoid of things killing us here. Not much in the way of poisonous or venomous creatures. The biggest spiders we get here are the size of my thumb. Icy roads suck, but it's flat so collisions are often not fatal. No chance of earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, mudslides. Mosquitoes are annoying, but the municipal spray keeps them out of the city.

Nothing better for the economy of the military industrial complex than a good war. It'll give the 24-hour news cycle something to talk about other than the "virus of unknown origin". Thankfully, I don't think the Ukraine has many natural resources like the oil fields of Iraq or the opium fields of Afghanistan so the US shouldn't care. They will have to flex a bit, but I doubt we'll get much other than humanitarian aide and maybe some aircraft carriers deployed to the region for said 'merican flex.

Oh, I don't use those. I don't trust my 120 year old house's wiring to not catch fire from much plugged into any outlet. I don't really even know much about that sort of thing anyway.

The 3DS e-shop is going down at the same time. Not for 13 months though. They had some good games for it. As you can tell from my avatar, my grown-*** man self has been playing Pokemon off and on for like 20+ years. I did kind of give up after Gen 3 which was basically perfect in my opinion. I don't know much about any gen after 3/4 as I lost interest, but it doesn't mean I can't fire up the old VBA and play them from time to time. It seems like the 3DS lasted forever though. I never heard good things about the Wii-U (or the Wii for that matter.
