From the moment the protagonist meets Neil to their last moment together at the assault on the complex we see his eyes get redder (more blood shot) until he's in all out tears. When they depart, the feeling he's overwhelmed with is the realization that Neil supposedly sacrifices himself to save him. I think it's more of a feeling like your son dying. Again, the movie is all about the denial of information in order to steer the future in a specific direction. That may seem counter intuitive as the way the temporal pincer operates is with two forces of entropy operating simultaneously towards a neutral entropic point (the green shipping container on the boat where there was a blue, green, and red). The protagonist has realized who Neil is when he tells him that he doesn't go back to London to get with Kat, but Neil bringing it up is an acknowledgement that it is what the protagonist does. This was him feeding himself information. He wouldn't otherwise have gone back to London as he believed it to be too dangerous. When he does go back he eliminates Priyah and her cohort. Why would he do this? I believe it's because Priyah is Kat by a different name. Wouldn't it be ironic if the tomb of the pharaoh was Sator's own? When Kat carts off Sator's dead body it could be possible that it ends up as the dead body that unlocked the door for the protagonist. As we've discovered, there can be multiple iterations of a person operating at the same point in time as a result of aging linearly while having negative entropy. The car doesn't stop because the protagonist puts his hand on the break. It starts because he takes his hand off the break. Meaning, he could feel the velocity of the car decreasing as they were coming to the traffic jam so all he had to do was touch the breaks to make the car stop. That was why he asked Neil what to call it, he asked if it was fate. This proposing the idea of predestination. Things happen for a reason. The bullet has already landed in it's target as a result of being fired at the wall, but if it were to move inversely it would feel like catching a baseball instead of throwing it. The feeling of stopping the car isn't the feeling of breaking to decelerate. The car was at a neutral velocity to start. The protagonist could tap the gas before hitting the breaks. Before going into Sator's turnstyle the script (subtitles) says the protagonist is saying "You might as well help us", but it also sounds like "And Max will help us". The audio gets jumbled when deciphering what has been inverted. This is when the protagonist acknowledges that lying is standard protocol. Foreshadowing later in the movie when he says he's not going to go back to London to get with Kat, that he would be lying. Just as the protagonist is introduced to the idea of tenet by a man that makes the exact same hand motion as Neil when Neil is explaining to the protagonist the concept of an inverted world colliding with our current. Effectively, one person would see it as saving the world by inverting it if the world was on the brink of self-destruction it could thereby prevent it. The problem is that inverting entropy in an attempt to regain time will inevitably result in neutral entropy. Neutral entropy would effectively be death. The grandfather paradox, whereby you ask whether or not you could kill your grandfather and still be born is presumed by the disruption of space time by temporal manipulation. Although multiple timelines may converge into one, they are all still playing out simultaneously. Kind of like in wings of the goddess how Lilisette and Lilith can exist simultaneously. They're effectively two versions of the same person. When they converge their entropy is neutralized thereby eliminating both of them and giving birth to something else. The parallel worlds theory that Neil brings up effectively questions the idea, would the you of a parallel world still be you. Would their consciousness still be your own. That's why the policy is to suppress or limit the amount of information divulged from the future to the past. Neil says "our policy" as a hint that they're on the same team. It's heavily hinted that Priyah, is an older Kat. This is why she knows Kat and her son are safe, but feels that she cannot disclose it to the protagonist. He doesn't understand why she refers to him as a protagonist rather than the. It implies he might feel he's operating linearly, but there are other versions of himself operating simultaneously. They also don't understand what the physical manifestation of the or why the objective is to bring it to the past. Think of it as an axis or core of a turn-style. If you're trying to save the world from self destruction you would invert it's entropy to try to effectively buy time. At some point you would have to revert the entropy, otherwise it would result in a neutral point. This is why particles aren't supposed to physically touch. When the protagonist fights himself invertedly he realizes he must fire bullets from the gun to empty rounds to mitigate potential damage to himself both in the present and past. Part of operating on instinct was understanding that internal memories were going to be projected from their body while they moved inverted through time. Effectively, instinct from knowing what has already happened. Sometimes they must play into a part that their former self has already seen in order to maintain a trajectory for reality, lest a paradox be created. Neil doesn't tell the protagonist that the soldier is a version of himself of the future because he doesn't want to alter the course of events with knowledge that wasn't obviously divulged prior. When the protagonist tells prior about the 241, this is him unknowingly divulging information about future events. This iteration of Kat didn't know that she tells the protagonist until he tells her to. This is why he the mastermind of the operation all the while being ignorant to the course of events in their entirety.

So what's SRNRS and what's RPNPR? These are the diagonal patterns of the Sator Square that the movie is based off of.

I propose RPNPR represent the flow of time as a pendulum operating in a reverse positive neutral positive reverse motion. Whereby the pitch of the movie is a physicist discoveries an algorithm that creates a machine that acts as the axis of time. I propose then that SRNRS coincides with RPNPR. Whereby it represents the way the laws of physics would operate with relation to the entropy value. Smooth rigid neutral rigid smooth. The example would be driving a car. Normally we propel the car forward by utilizing the grip of the tires with relation to the surface condition of the road. The friction generated from the uniformal revolution of the tires enable the car to build energy in the form of acceleration and velocity. If the tires don't grip the road because say they're bald or the surface is too smooth (like ice) then the car continues at it's current trajectory until being impacted upon by another force like say the weight of the object causing then object to gradually slow down as gravity continually pulls it downward in conjunction with airflow patterns. Driving an inverted car would be more like skating as the friction that would normally cause you to burn rubber would be inverted. It would cause the tire to freeze instead. We normally see things as operating in a cause and effect pattern. We utilize the energy that is expelled from fission. Whilst operating inversely would mean expending energy in order to bring about fusion. Sort of how you can't breathe inversely. While moving with inverted entropy the lungs wouldn't be able to pull oxygen in from the air because the physics are inverted. Without the oxygen mask effectively feeding you oxygen you would feel like the oxygen is being pulled out of you, hence a choking feeling. The puzzle of the Sator square is also it's own solution in that regard.
