Yep, that's pretty much humanities future I think, unless there is some outside force is put into place to change it. BC escalated the problem far above what it would normally be, most intelligent people can just opt out of the gene pool easily for whatever reason when they never normally could. It's a big IP from an even bigger brand. Doesn't surprise me at all that they're trying to break into MMOs for a quick buck. Don't get me wrong, I'm certain it will make money. People will play it.
Just that it missed the mark by a decade (+). It will make less money than it would have, not it will make zero monies. It looks more like Diablo or something than a traditional MMORPG

Funny thing though, even if this happens, is that MS isnt buying the software itself, as there isnt anything on it that MS couldnt do or do it better. The value probably is tied to the userbase. So, overnight, millions users gonna fall in MS database. Two interesting aspects to notice here: 1) is how valuable is the concept of user 2) how someone is profiting heavily by something isnt their property. Selling userbase is like selling contact information, and thats specific to the user. Someone is just profiting over you, and you are just not noticing, or worse, you arent even receiving your share of it. Yep, when they throw this kind of money around they aren't buying the thing itself. They are buying the locked in userbase.
Once people are used to something it's very hard to get them to switch, and once you buy the thing they love you can make it more profitable and they will mostly all stick around. Even if they complain. Its dead Jim, you take its wallet I'll take its tricorder.

I'm glad to see that not only did our software update not fix a single one of the bugs and glitches that cause work to just disappear or the program to crash randomly about 2-4 times an hour, I've encountered 3 new issues since we "upgraded" a week ago.
One of which affects a workaround that I'd already come up with for an existing issue. Now it crashes when I do the thing that allowed me to prevent the program from crashing. i've got 21 emails about attempted log-in's to my steam account in the last 2 days. the thing is they are all addressed to an email i don't use to sign-in to steam... nice try hyackers, but i'm nut dum.
So god damn annoying all the phishing emails you get, all it takes is one day when you're stupid and you're screwed.
