Here in the land of original pizza(Naples) a margherita which is one of the most basic is normally about 4.50€. Richer toppings obviously cost more, so you can expect something like 6/6.50, a little bit more in expensive restaurants, but that's about it.
a ~$4.78 cooked and ready to eat pizza would be amazing here, but no one would do it.
When I was in college we used to be able to get a 20" cheese pizza at pizza and six pack place (Subs n' Suds, baby) for $4.00 from 7:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.
It wasn't the best pizza in town, but I'd put it top 5. Which for a college town, ain't shabby.
Granted that was, you know. 15 years ago.
